Luz Madrid Rooms

This hotel is closed to everything in Madrid downtown: Metro stations, stores, and attractions. It's safe and clean. The owners are nice and informative.

Excelent. We spend a great time in. Fabulus location. Frendly staff, special doña Margarita, she Gives us a up grade room, the last two nights... whith a balcony! Y recomend the Luz Madrid Hostal for a trip arround Madrid.

The hostal was easy to find and it was in break Madrid. A short walk from the main square. The room was clean and the staff was friendly even though they could not speak English. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

The room was just satisfactory, air-conditioning not the best, but the location of the hotel and the front desk lady's hospitality make up for it. Although it can be cheaper I believe.

Not what I expected. It turned out to be a hostel and very difficult to find, no outside signs. The rooms were small, but very clean. Neighborhood was lovely and in the center of Madrid. Communication was difficult due to no English speaking staff. I would recommend it for anyone who likes being in the center of things at a budget price. Could not be beat for cleanliness.

It was disapointing that despite having a booking confirmation and guaranteed by visa there was no room available.The substitute hostal was good for the price.comfortable and clean with very friendly staff.hostal ivor,calle del arenal.central location.

Hostal was hard to find being on the 3rd Floor of an apartment building with no signs. Hostal quality poor probably the worst place I have stayed booking on Hotel.com Good position for the underground nothing else

The Hostal is in a great location close to Plaza Mayor, Plaza Del Sol, and the Royal Palace. Use the call button on the right side of the front door doorframe - Hostal Luz is not easily identified. The elevator is only about 18 inches wide, but will accommodate most luggage. The Hostal is on the fourth floor (American way of counting floors, but the third floor in the European system - punch the button for "3" for the elevator). Once you get into the Hostal itself, the atmosphere is bright and cheerful with pale yellow walls and light colored floor tiles. The bathroom in my private room was large with a shower although the bedroom is not large and there is little room to place your luggage if not on one of the two beds. Rooms are cleaned well each day and the refrigerator is great if you are trying to eat from the grocery store. Negatives are that no one speaks more than bare minimum English, unclear voices can be heard through the walls, and my room could use a fresh coat of paint. All said, this is the second time I have stayed there, each time for a week and recommend it.
