Location was amazing. The actual grounds of the hostel were great and the pub next door was fab. Staff friendly as well. Beds comfortable.

The price for the room was awful in comparison to other hostels I’ve stayed in. Stayed in a 4 bed female dorm. There was black mold in the bathroom that had been painted over. No shower curtain on the bath so water went everywhere. No lock on the bathroom door. Cockroaches in the room (fine due to setting but still). Extremely outdated and old, the only new thing was the beds.

Staying at Nomads Airlie was genuinely the best decision we made on our entire trip. From the second we arrived, the vibe was unreal — amazing atmosphere, great people, and honestly felt like paradise. The pool area is next level and became our daily hangout spot, and the kitchen facilities were actually so good compared to most hostels. Everything was clean, social, and just had the perfect energy. But the real reason we booked — and the absolute highlight of the whole place — was Ellis. Easily the greatest worker to ever walk this planet. This man deserves a statue outside the hostel. Funniest, friendliest, most welcoming person ever and completely made our experience unforgettable. He went above and beyond every single day and created such an incredible environment for everyone there. If Ellis ever leaves, the Australian tourism industry might collapse. Could not recommend Nomads Airlie more. Unreal hostel, unreal people, unreal memories. We already want to come back.
