The service was shocking, went fora wedding at the Barony, checked in and was not told the place closed and that I had to go round the side of the building to access my room, stood in the cold and rain trying to phone to get in where I couldn't get an answer. Had to return to the Barony and pay for another room. The next day I went in to complain, the owner then proceeded to shout at me and lie saying I had been told and that her husband told me, blatant lie as it was a younger guy who gave me the key. This so called business women proceeded to shout at me and then just walked away refusing a refund. Incredibly unprofessional and rude.

Very enjoyable stay at the horseshoe, only stopping for the one night on the way up to Edinburgh. Had a lovely dinner, washed down with well kept beer and finished with a few cocktails. Room was tiny but had everything required including very comfy beds.

Spacious and well-appointed room, very friendly and helpful staff. Also very dog-friendly and generally welcoming.

A most enjoyable overnight stay. We were at a wedding in Neidpath Castle so we had nice bowl of Ham hock soup to keep us going till the wedding feast !. As soup goes ptetty darn good . Gluten free bread for my husband gets 5 stars. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Flying visit, nice hotel. Would have been nice if the hotel put on an early breakfast for the cycling event. Others we’ve stayed at have done this.

Great food and great rooms and great staff will stay again
