The New Inn

Winchelsea is a beautiful community and The New Inn is in its centre. Off the entrance is a warm and welcoming pub and the proprietor and staff are very helpful. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and the atmosphere very pleasant. Excellent value although shopping is a drive away.

Ideally located to explore Rye, Hastings & surrounding area, but set in a lovely village setting with lots of local history. Very friendly staff, lovely food & comfortable bedroom.

Large comfortable bedroom with a great view of the church and museum. Excellent breakfast. Excellent dinner. Friendly and efficient staff. No complaints about anything. Would highly recommend this pub in this exceptionally pretty and historic town.

The New Inn is an old, charming building situated in the historic town of Winchelsea. It has a bar / restaurant & an outside area including a lovely garden with picnic benches. Dogs are allowed. The staff were very friendly & helpful.

2 day well earned break

We had the best weekend at The New Inn, from the moment we arrived all the staff were warm and welcoming. Quick and efficient check in, shown to our room which was clean and decorated to a high standard with comfortable furnishings. Winchelsea is a beautiful village and pub sits in a pretty spot opposite the church which is worth a visit to admire the stained glass windows. If you are interested in history do visit the museum and there are also cellar tours which have to be booked in advance. We ate both nights of our stay at The New Inn, both nights the service was excellent, with the staff all very friendly and helpful. The food was of a good standard with good size portions, the Sea Bass was especially good. There is also a lovely garden to sit in if the weather is good. We like to walk and the whole area is a walkers paradise but there are lots of other things to see and do in the area. Overall, we had a great weekend and hope to return again.

Very enjoyable comfortable room and spacious. Only downside pub shut at 9.30
