Saffron Hotel

Bathroom facilities poor, cramped and shabby. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

On arrival the hotel was covered in scaffolding & looking a bit tatty generally. Room was a decent size but the bathroom was quite cramped. Floorboards were really creaky - I realise it's an old building, but it felt like you were waking everyone in the hotel up when moving around the room. There was a locked door adjoining another room - conversations could be clearly heard through this & therefore it didn't feel very private. We had a decent nights sleep though. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.

The Saffron hotel is a listed building,the living area, iis therefore old and the floor boards a bit creaky.i feel the whole experience of staying in such a wonderful place in a fantastic location far makes up for the fact the hotel is in need of some T L.C.The current owners were carrying out some refurbishment so I'm sure it can only improve.

Refurbished downstairs and looks smart and clean however the rooms are in desperate need of some attention. Staff were friendly and helpful, location is central however the rooms don't look like they have been touched in 20years.

Room was very basic and quite uncomfortable. Heating was over bearing even with the windows open. Room slanted down to one side (slipped down in my socks a few times) and bathroom door height was very low (banged my head at least 8 times)

Good hotel. Earlier breakfast would be useful.

Arrived after long day of travelling to a warm welcome Slept like a log.

ALTHOUGH I GIVE THE OVERALL RATING OK AND WOULD PROBABLY CONSIDER STAYING THERE AGAIN, IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT IT IS AND OUR ROOM WAS VERY SMALL, ALSO NO ONE WAS AT THE DESK WHEN WE CHECKED OUT SATURDAY MORNING AND NO BELL TO ALERT ANYONE - RATHER STRANGE I WOULD SAY....

We stayed at the Saffron Hotel, due to working up in the area, it was a very pleasant stay, and we will be using it again soon.
