No 1 Hotel

I have contacted you regarding the false statement on you web site stating these you rooms are serviced daily and they are not

The room was very dark as had no window, just a half glass door with a broken blind on it. Kettle had to go on floor as the extension cable didn’t reach the table.

Comfortable, lovely room.

Only downside was breakfast, juice wasn’t filled up while we were there, coffee was only warm, sausages not cooked thoroughly

The booking process was really bad. We could have booked in person in March but were told to go to booking.com and we id not get the amount of beds we needed. I ended up booking another room late in the process and then when we arrived we had enough rooms and beds. The receiptionist said we could get our money back for the extra room we did not use but booking .com said that No1 did not let them. We will not come back next year.

Parking capacity was good for town centre location .

The only bedroom window looked out onto a flat roof which accommodated the extract system of a takeaway food kitchen immediately next door . Before 11pm , it was not possible to open the window due to noise and smell . With the window closed , the room was airless - not what you need in the height of summer ! Our room was no.5. Breakfasts were disappointing . Poor quality cooking and staff shortage were evident . The one evening meal which we did have was fine

The location was ideal.

The hotel is tired and needs a refresher, particularly the carpets as they are frayed and in need of cleaning. The location of the reception from the hotel entrance is not clear, after walking through several corridors and through a restaurant to the bar I found it was the bar where check in was, and staff laughing when explaining I couldn’t find where to check in. Can’t get an evening meal in the hotel restaurant as they only cook for people who make a reservation. The restaurant was not busy in fact only one table was eating and this is not explained on booking in. The menu on line says this is a Tapas, but this is not the case, it is a completely different menu. Thankfully we went to the Italian across the street. Breakfast was just OK, staff very defensive towards customers. Hotel is tired and uncomfortable, I will not return which is a shame because it has so much potential.
