Hampton Inn & Suites Houghton

Very nice hotel, it is clean, and it is probably your best option in Houghton. Super helpful staff. The only reason why I gave it a 4 was because I think it needs some upgrading.

Updated hotel with restaurant and bar. Room was spacious.

Excellent facility with a great location. Very nice breakfast area that was spacious and comfortable. All the staff that we interacted with were friendly and professional.

Honestly, nothing.

Pool chemicals were to the level of toxic. We went in for a few minutes and my eyes were burning from just sitting in the hot tub. My kids swam in the pool a few minutes but we left quickly after they couldn’t quit coughing due to the amount of chemicals in the pool.

We could have not had a better experience. Staff was excellent and did everything they could to help you.

We walked in and booked a room last minute for three nights. We originally were booked with another hotel through Expedia.com. The original hotel overbooked and had Expedia find us another hotel. We were in the middle of no where when contacted about being bumped to another hotel and I had zero internet to be able to look up our options Expedia gave us. The agent with Expedia was rushing me to make a decision and I had to make a blind decision without seeing the hotels choices. Needless to say the hotel I decided on was horrible. Not clean, smelled of mildew and mold and we did not feel safe there due to how run down the rooms were. It wouldn't take much for someone to break into your room. So we walked the downtown strip in Houghton, MI. and on a whim decided to walk into the Hampton Inn & Suites and ask if they had any cancellations. Sara at the front desk was so helpful and was able to give us a very nice room at a great rate. Sara literally saved our whole trip. Aside from Sara saving our trip the hotel was also clean, well kept and every staff person was very friendly. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Sara and Hampton Inn & Suites.
