La Porte Rouge - The Red Door Inn Chambres d'Hotes

Shared bathroom with no lock was most unsatisfactory. Evening meal with hosts was excellent.

We had a wonderful stay in the 4 person chamber. The house itself is very authentic and situated in the city centre. The breakfast is just awesome with homemade marmelades. The owners are very kind and helpful. We loved it

Hotel is very different from a normal hotel. It is an amazing old property, we stayed in the suite which had an amazing roll top bath looking out of a window at an ancient church opposite. Total privacy as on the top floor and no windows opposite. The room was great and the keys are like something out of Harry Potter. Hosts were very kind but not intrusive. The garden makes for a lovely breakfast spot.

Hôtes très sympathiques et arrangeants

A hidden gem in the centre of Saintes. We stayed one night in the suite with a family of four. A little bit hard to reach with the car until you know the way into the medieval city centre. What a pleasant welcome by the owners and their pet! And a very lovely breakfast in the garden. It was a pity we had to leave Saintes after just one day!

La gentillesse..la disponibilité... J'ai particulièrement aimé le bon contact au petit déjeuner...Le décor intérieur de la maison, la façade côté cour... L'escalier était un peu raide...(Mais ça c'est mon problème d'équilibre et de souffle court !!...) Pour moi, conclusion très positive !!!. J'en parle autour de moi....

Although it was a short, one night stay, we were so happy to have discovered La Porte Rouge. It was wonderful to stay in a historic place that, while obviously protective of its rustic charm and aesthetic, still had comfortable and very accommodating rooms. To make great things greater, our hosts were so hospitable, kind and easy to talk to, even helping us weary travelers find a great meal (Restaurant 29) when most places were closing for the evening. Again, it was a short stay, but one we wished was longer. La Porte Rouge is certainly a place to come back to.

Je n'ai rien aimé! Le rapport qualité prix est à revoir. Pas de télévision dans la chambre, pas possible de stationner la voiture à proximité. La propreté et l'hygiène laisse vraiment à désirer. Pas d'ascenseur. En réservant à l'avance, il faut payer d'avance donc pas possible de faire marche arrière ou alors perdre 100€.Voila!

Un hôtel avec une belle architecture très beau. Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins. Un peu de mal à trouver car pas d’enseigne mais une belle porte rouge comme le nom de l’hôtel.
