Inturotel Cala Azul

I stayed for a week with my daughter, the location is excellent, right on the beach and an easy walk to the town center. We self catered so I cannot comment on the food. The rocks are great for kids (and adults) to jump into the sea! All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. My only feedback would be the need for more sun beds , the space is available but there was a lack of beds at peak times, otherwise a very pleasant stay. Thank you,

Fantastic family orientated complex and resort. Some of the blocks are in need of modernisation however, which is already happening is some blocks but not others yet. The difference in these is vast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and although our accommodation was a little dated, it was kept immaculately clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our accommodation had a stunning sea view, with beautiful sandy beaches nearby with lots of ladder access points directly into the sea. The hotel restaurant and facilities were great too.

Lovely view from balcony of the sea a nd the food at breakfast was very good. We had hired a car and used the hotel as a base to explore the area. Cala D'Or is a nice clean resort. Great restaurant area and local beaches are wonderful, although we had to be careful as there were a lot of jellyfish which caused a painful sting to me and my son; neither of us were harmed though. Having said that, our room smelled musty and the decor was tired. There was some mould inthe grouting in the bathroom. The place felt damp. We had asked for a sea view and that trumped asking for a different room, but it was not what we expected. We were surprised that the safe in the room was not treated as a part of out welfare and security; the hotel choosing to charge 3 euros a day to rent the key to operate the safe. The hotel pools were overcrowded and sunbeds were 'reserved' from a very early hour. I think they made an effort to remove towels to free up beds where people were not returning but I was glad we were able to get away from the masses. During the stay, my wife had a Kipling beach bag stolen from our balcony where left to dry. I mentioned it to reception and they said the manager would be in touch as I felt I knew who had probably taken it. No one made contact so I was further concerned as to their attitude to security. I made these points to Inturotel in their own survey and received an email back to say someone would be in touch but again, it appears they are disinterested.

All the hotel staff were very pleasant helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Room was a good size and close to reception, the pools and the beach bar. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice even on our last day we had smoked salmon and champagne. Asked to keep room after normal checkout time as got a late flight home our prayers were answered which was a God send!!. All areas of the hotel were immaculate and would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had an apartment on he 3rd floor, so had to lug cases up the stairs as there isn’t a lift! Ate in the restaurant once, just about ok, quantity not quality! Pool area busy as was small beach area, ok apart from jellyfish, but I guess they can’t control that! Apartment ok with large balcony, although a little tired. Local area very busy & a bit tacky, but plenty of bars etc. Cala D’Or has some nice little bays & a lovely harbour with good restaurants, so go there instead!

Accommodation was basic but clean. The reception staff were friendly but often didn't have information necessary and didn't go out of their way to help. We had an ant infestation and I had to identify the source of it (a nest) and suggest how to deal with it - all they kept doing up until then was send cleaners round with a spray which hardly helped. The communal areas and swimming pool areas are amazing - clear, comfortable, well-staffed, lovely pools.

The aparthotel was perfect for what we needed; clean, child-safe and with a kitchen stocked with all the essential cookware including a fridge and a hob.
