"Tranquility in the wild"

8.0

The location is beautiful, set within the nature reserve. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and it is great just to sit in the balcony at night to listen to the sounds of nature.

"You're in the wild"

8.0

One can hear the surf in the distance. Wild boar roamed through the area, right next to our bungalow the first night. An Axis (Sri Lankan deer) came to the pool area to drink the following morning during breakfast, right under our noses. The safari collection and drop off point is a short walk from central commons. Everyone is just great and fellow visitors have smiles on their faces. Fine place to stay.. just tidy the lamp shades a bit, please. A/C blows cold air.

"Animals stars and tranquility"

8.0

We had a beautiful 2 night stay at Cinnamon Wild. The room was amazing as was the location, so close to the national park. The night sky viewing from the observation deck with drink in hand was awesome. Watching crocodiles, water buffalo along with the water birds from the pool area added a touch of the wild. The peace and tranquility added to the ambience. The reason I gave the hotel an overall rating of 4 is because of the low quality of the food at dinner. The buffet was only just passable at best with the crowding at the doors in the air-con section, making it difficult to get to the food especially in the dessert area.A la carte not much better but did taste fresh. A rethink of buffet design area and the need to improve food quality would make this hotel truly 5*. Overall an amazing experience.

"Terrible smell in room"

6.0

Terrible smell of a dead gekho from toilet extractor. Not cleaned untill 24 hours after we had checked in at our insitance and complaining This was something that management should have checkEd out ( the stench in the room) before a guest checks in. Otherwise stay was ok. This hotel is aware that you do not have any food options other than at their facility and so does not offer full board, instead charging 22 dollars for dinner per head.

"Stunning location, disappointing food"

8.0

The place is great, especially when you get the room half price, but the food was really disappointing and overpriced. Minor food poisoning included...

"Hotel for Yala NP"

6.0

Nice hotel for a base for Yala NP safari. However, the safari in Yala was very poor returns for the time, energy and expenditure. Little or no big games spotted by so called safari jeep drivers who are mainly clueless and each following the other. Do not be fooled by the so called leopard density claimed. Very disappointed overall.

"An unforgettable experience"

10.0

We spent four wonderful nights at this hotel and it was something I shall never forget - if you want wild stay here; the crocodiles are only 100 meters from your room but don't worry too much because they'll have the monkeys that play on your porch before you! Depressingly, whilst on safari, no toilets were available in the park and people (thousands of them) had left used toilet roll, tampons and nappies all over the stop point. How can this be allowed to happen? We also stopped at one place to have breakfast and it was then that I realised that it was a washed-away hotel from the 2004 Tsunami. It's rather creepy to eat breakfast where dozens of people died! This is not connected to the hotel but still it did put a dampener on things somewhat - perhaps the hotels in the surrounding area can club together to help solve this problem in conjunction with the park authoririties? The hotel grounds were spotless and the food was amazing. There is a wonderful bar on the roof which affords stunning views of the park at night (no lights or noise - just as nature intended). Despite my reservations about the park, I highly recommend the hotel and the safari experience.
