"The most friendly home away frm home"

6.0

The staff at d'Omah make up for the fact that the hotel could do with a makeover, nothing too big as the quaintness is very relaxing I truly lived my stay which was almost 3 weeks in total Cheers Adrienne

"Family option - Ubud, Bali"

8.0

This hotel took some finding - even our Balinese driver took a while to locate it - but it was worth the hunt! Very relaxing place, friendly and helpful staff and well maintained. Only a few niggles - the first was that the mosquito net didn't go all the way around our double bed rendering it useless - tho fortunately there weren't too many mozzies around when we were there; also, the additional charge for a small mattress on the floor for a child, had not been specified in the description (whereas the charge for a cot had) and it was rather more than expected! We felt that both charges should have been specified in the description as it and meant our room was rather more expensive than we'd anticipated. Overall this is a great little hotel but not one to stay at if convenience to the centre of Ubud is important. It's not a great distance out (about 20 minute walk from palace) but part of the route is dark and there aren't pavements along the busy road. There is a free shuttle into Ubud every hour, but only 3 pick-up times back so we ended up getting a taxi instead. Lovely garden for relaxing with a book and good library tho!

"Total GEM!"

10.0

I don't usually take the time to complete such feedback reports, BUT ...... I most thoroughly recommend dÖmar Hotel. I am a very experienced traveller. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there for 5 nights, having only returned home yesterday. This was my 6th visit to Bali and second to Ubud specifically. dÖmar is a GEM! The staff are very kind, pleasant and ever helpful. The gardens and my room were extremely tranquil and relaxing. Though the hotel is just a little out of the centre of Ubud (but a really nice walk, nonetheless), this is no issue with free transport provided by the hotel every hour. Every encounter I had with staff showed that they were prepared to "go that extra mile" - and I felt without any pressure to do so. I'll defininitely be back, and soon. Thank you again to all the staff at this delightful hotel. The only hesitation I have in making a glowing report is that I may have trouble getting a reservation next time I want to visit!! Thank you lovely staff at dÓmar.

"nice place"

8.0

Nice hotel, excellent friendly staff. No TV or fridge in rooms. The complimantary brekkie was very limited so ended up ordering off menu anyway! But had a nice stay. A bit of a hike out of town, but a shuttle every hour drops you down in the town, either walk or taxi back between $3-5. A few shops and restaurants near the hotel, great new 'raw cafe' called Alchemy, and a cheap great 'traditional' massage place close by, green sign up, $7/hr!

"Nice but there is room for improvement"

8.0

Check-in in the evening and I was given a room right next to the pool. The environment was well kept with lots of flowering trees and ponds of fishes and swimming pool was clean. Room was decent and clean except for a few ants and some dead ants around. Went out to Ubud central for dinner and when we returned, we asked for the wifi password but the reception was closed so spoke with 3 security guards instead. Got the password and tried accessing the wifi but the connection was too weak/non existence from my room. 1 more thing to improve on is the toilet window wooden slits have too big a gap in between and it is 100% possible for outsiders to peep into the toilet when you're bathing/peeing and I actually heard breathing and rustle from outside right before I bathe. Had to use the towels to cover up that window. Perhaps, can installing a blind would solve the problem.

"The dOmah hotel in Ubud, Bali"

2.0

I'm very disappointed with this hotel service. We are greeted by a entrance with very bad maintained road. The location also deserted from the main city, some locals don't even know this hotel's location. I booked the room with buffet breakfast. After I check in, only I notice I wasn't given a breakfast voucher. I called the reception and they say they will check. No news til I visit personally to the reception and still they answer me checking. After awhile, was told we are given breakfast but it's not buffet style. The staff show us the menu with very limited choice to choose from. The swimming pool is not for use as it was under maintainence, it's full of algae. The bed I felt itchy when I wake up the next day, not sure whether is it because of bed bugs. But my friend also experience the same thing, so the possibility is there. The sofa in the room also quite dirty. The hotel offers taxi service to air port. So in view of the hotel's location, I decided to use their cab service. I make the booking on my 1st day staying there and the receptionist assured me that on the day I check out, the taxi will come at 4am as my flight is early on that day. He even called the driver right in front of me. On day 2 and the night before we check out, the staff did confirm with us again on the taxi arrival time and they were nice enough to promise to prepare breakfast in a box for us. On the day I check out, I arrived at the reception hall which is dark and empty. No one is around. I have to find the light switch and turn on the lights. I call the reception, no one answer as I was at the reception place seeing the phone ringing. I waited and waited, still no one come and answer the phone. So I walked around the hotel hoping to find any staff for assistance. To my dismay, nil. Couldn't even find anyone. I even went to the hotel entrance which is wide open, hoping to find may be security guard to assist but still I couldn't find any. It's already 4.30am after searching up and down, I went to the entrance to see whether my taxi come but disappointedly no. So worry that I'll miss my flight, I panic and searching up and down for help. Finally I found a house near by the hotel shuttle bus. I knocked on the door, someone answered me who is the security and he just awake from sleep. He only tell me it's still early. I have to actually told him few tines repeatly it's not early and the taxi is not here. I asked him to call the taxi driver, he tell me that he don't know the number. I ask him to ask other staff but he just sat at the reception counter and looking for clues. After I gave orders few times 'please call your colleague or anyone, I'm going to miss my flight', only he went back to the house to wake up another sleeping staff. That second staff manage to find the driver name and call him. The driver reach the hotel around 5am. The driver also panic as I saw he was driving around 140km/h. He even apologize to us that he has to speed. Not forgetting the breakfast box the hotel prepare for us, it only contain a water bottle, a banana, a piece of cake, a rambutan. I'm speechless on the breakfast. I could only conclude, I have a very bad experience and it's the worst I ever encounter after traveling to so many countries. I hope the hotel please improve more. All these shouldn't happen especially at a 3 star hotel.
