"Where to Stay in UBUD"

6.0

This may have been a great hotel in it day. It needs a bit of of TLC, there are many items that need repair. Breakfast was great and the staff is somewhat helpfull. But I would not recomend this hotel because of the value for the money, find a cheaper place in the area.

"Pleasant spot just outside Ubud"

8.0

This is a difficult hotel to review. My room (perhaps a villa suite--not the standard twin room) was large and gorgeous, the bed was perfect, the AC and hot water worked, nothing was musty, there were thoughtful additions like mosquito repellent (which I never needed) and a candle; the pond added a beautiful indoor/outdoor ambiance to the room. But the room was separated by only one door from the restaurant so I was woken up by breakfasters by 7:00 everyday (which is just as well in Bali since it gets hot later, but still, on vacation one likes to be able to choose when to get up); the large window in the bathroom was functionless since it couldn't be opened when the room was in use without providing a show to the rest of the hotel guests!; the frogs and other wildlife in the pond use the bathroom as an amplifier and make some serious noise all night, and one large wall of windows was covered only in thin cream-colored linen, so it was quite bright all night. Also, the pool was under construction the whole time I was there. However, I asked the staff to turn off the light shining in my window and they did so immediately; the shuttles for the 5 min drive to town were easy to arrange, all the drivers were polite and professional, and the staff were kind and helpful; there were no surprise charges at check out, and they charged 50,000 rupiah less than the other place I stayed for a 1 a.m. pick up from the airport in Denpasar; the included breakfast was good; and the garden was quite nice. The hotel is also well situated for walking around the rice fields and there are nice little shops and restaurants around Penestanan.

"Is a bit out of the way. The"

8.0

Is a bit out of the way. The service by staff was excellent and they assisted whenever we needed to go to the shops, tours etc. The room was lovely in a very quiet setting. The two pools did not look inviting. Whilst we enjoyed our stay, we would look for a resort closer to the main shopping area. If you are looking for a quiet resort this is for you.

"A lovely hotel iwth good service"

10.0

A lovely hotel iwth good service a facilities. To walk to central Ubud would probably be a bit much, however twice a day transport there and then a couple of dollars for a taxi back is fine. Breakfast is good, staff is friendly and helpful. Close-by is a really good Warung (eating place), that has also a great range of vegetarian food as well as food that is palatable for smaller children.

"We booked two different types"

10.0

We booked two different types of rooms, the Veranda room was only slightly more expensive, but so much better, basically your own pavilion with bar, outside sitting area, a pond, a big bathroom/ dressing room with open air huge bath tap and a lovely canopy bed, tv and video. The other room was fine, but this one was clearly a class better.

"The staff were great, very helpful"

10.0

The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. We didn't mind the walk into the town, the homeward journey was steep but not too far, taxi were very cheap as an alternative. The only thing I would like to suggest would be to add a few sandwiches to the lunch menu. Ubud is the perfect place to relax, visit good restuarnts and do some serious gift shopping as wall as take in the culture and scenery of Bali. Unlike Kuta where the hawkers hassle you all the time, the shop owners were friendly and not always in your face.

"What a fantastic room and place"

10.0

What a fantastic room and place to stay. Staff were very helpful, and friendly. The place isn't in town but a 15minute walk downhill and your there. Was the best place we stayed at for bed and luxuary feel to a room. No neighbours could be heard. Reasonable prices for additional food and drinks and the massages are priced reasonablly too. (although in town can find cheaper). Would recommend to friends and family and will definately be going back.

"Hotel is not lavish but perfectly"

10.0

Hotel is not lavish but perfectly adequate in terms of room size, cleanliness and hospitality. We were a family of four, that stayed three nights and it suited our needs perfectly. Consider it very good value for money.

"Our room at D'Omah Hotel in Ubud,"

10.0

Our room at D'Omah Hotel in Ubud, Bali, was delightful. We stayed in a verandah suite which was lovely and private, with a spacious balcony overlooking a pool (there are 2 pools), a large bedroom, a very comfortable king size canopy bed, writing desk, spacious bathroom, fridge, TV, DVD player and movies. Our teenager slept on a mattress on the floor which saved us a second room fee and there was still heaps of room. The Reception staff were very helpful organising tours and drivers.
