The Fox and the Grapes Bed & Breakfast

Great old place, host Jim made an excellent breakfast. Would stay again. Conversations with jimand other guest very stimulating

Greeted by owner wearing filthy chef's coat. Our room had no TV, one was not allowed coffee or wine in the room. Breakfast was served at 9am - no sooner or later. There was no choice for breakfast and what we were served was very pretentious and, to us Brits, disgusting. The plug didn't fit in the washbasin in the room so the water ran out and the shower was pathetic. On the plus side we were found softer pillows for the second night but we did have to remove the incredibly thick mattress topper which would have been lovely on a cold winter's night but on a steamy July night was unbearable. Lovely views and location.

Great breakfasts, water smells like sulfur so a bottle of water would have been nice on arrival. House creaked early in the morning waking me but otherwise really nice. Awesome towels!

The inn keeper is a very nice guy. The inn is far from most things, as it seems is much in the area. The room is clean, but much to fussy. Youd don't need a king size bed, small sofa and chair . The closet is very large, using the space better would have been all you need, no need for a dresser. What would have been very useful would have been a shelf or two in the bathroom. We were told breakfast would be served at 9:00am, it was not served to at least 9:30. Fortunately we didn't have plans that required us to be anywhere at a specific. Time.

Jim is a great host and chef. Very informative about local area and attractions. Very relaxed setting.

The Fox and Grapes was a great old mansion located with a great view of the lake. The "breakfast" in Bed and Breakfast, while served charmingly, were two of the worst breakfasts I have had in a long time. While I am sure a great deal of thought went into their conception, they were neither tasty (too sweet or too flat), hearty nor appealing. Overall I would recommend the Fox and Grapes as a really quiet and peaceful getaway but plan your breakfast elsewhere.

The building is beautiful, with exquisite views from the lake-facing rooms. The location is within a mile of at least 5 wineries. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast they serve each day is worth it alone.

This was a great experience. We stayed here over the President's day weekend. Arrived on a Friday and left on Monday AM. Our host Rose was very gracious, helpful, nice, pleasant, warm and served us some really great breakfast. The other couples were also nice and friendly. While there, we did some great wine tasting and had a really great time. The house is beautiful with each room having some great antique furniture, its own bathroom and individual climate control, which was great b/c we like to turn the heat up. The living room is huge and has an outdoor deck (which we couldnt make use of unfortunately due to the frigid weather) that overlooks Seneca lake and so has a great view. This was our 1st B&B experience and we're thankful that it turned out to be a really great on. All in all, would highly recommend this to anyone looking to spend a nice romantic getaway weekend.

Otroligt mysigt hus. Härlig inredning i gammaldags stil. Otroligt engagerad och trevlig värd. Frukosten är överskattad i vissa andra recensioner. Det var absolut inget fel på den, den var till och med riktigt god, men den hajpades alldeles för mycket. Sängen var ganska hård och obekväm och det var inget riktigt täcke, utan bara lakan över och under en filt. Samtidigt var det ett väldigt mysigt rum. Gångavstånd till en trevlig vingård och köravstånd till desto fler. Helhetsintrycket är starkt positivt och jag kan absolut tänka mig att återvända.
