Harrington River Lodge

Secluded location next to the river. Huge bed in a spacious quiet room with a garden courtyard, joining a pool, and backing onto a lovely 3 km path along the river.

The bathroom fan was very noisy and the plumbing a bit dodgy. No outside lighting to the restaurant and car park.

Loved that it had a tavern on site so easy dinner option. Also loved the boardwalk the next morning and reading Harrington’s history.

Very spacious rooms and bathrooms. You can go for lovely long walk along the shore and the restaurant is very good.

Upon arrival the receptionist pointed out that the booking I had made through an intermediary was for a 2 bedroom apartment which was obviously overkill. She then said she would book me into me into a more appropriate suite. As the cancellation was made after the deadline I was charged the full cancellation fee by the intermediary. Upon realising this I contacted HRL and told them of the situation and they organised a full refund making a net saving of over $1,000 on my stay. The care and attention for their customers needs is exceptional.
