Stanley House Hotel & Spa

The room was very nice, it was large and quiet. Well sound proofed. The bathroom was lovely. Great shower

One curtain was hanging down (lack of hooks). We did not have a fridge (other rooms did). The TV was not working. No instructions to work the heating/AC. There was no information in the room. Swimming pool advertised BUT with a charge of £35 per person. The hotel looked lovely but tired. Public areas were grubby. Seating in the breakfast was stained. Breakfast was cold. One morning was very good and we could choose from a menu but on the Sunday morning there was no menu and the food was cold. The bar was grubby , nothing was tidied away. The garden area desperately needs attention, full of weeds, herbaceous planting not cut back from the Autumn, rose bay willow herbs in the borders.

Clean and modern hotel rooms. The (lunch) food was delicious.

The breakfast was quite basic, but you’re able to order omelette, eggs Benedict etc from the waiter. There is no 24hr room service. We arrived back at the hotel around 10pm and all kitchens were closed. We had to order uber eats

The breakfast was fine - everything I needed was there. I didn't order off the menu. Personal attention and welcome. Beautiful surroundings. Very large comfortable room.

The coffee pot was too small and splattered everywhere when I pushed the plunger down. There was no Body Lotion in the room. Was unable to operate the EV charger, but this was not operated by the hotel. Required signing up to a new app. Fortunately I have a hibrid car.

Location is lovely, very quiet and peaceful. The hotel is stunning. The staff were super friendly and efficient. The Spa is lovely, especially the sauna and pool which both look out onto the pond and grounds.

Only one slight negative was when sat in the jacuzzi, looking out, you could see a broken piece of equipment outside, looked like a heater that was for the bin. It didn't spoil anything but given everything else was so, on point, it was a minor oversight.
