"Disappointing"

3.0

bed is good. Shower water pressure is ok too.

wifi was very bad, not because of starlink itself, but poor relay to the room. Asked them to look into it, they did not. They force no AC when outside (AC needs the key to function) which means it will be hot for a while when you come back, for "ecological" reasons. I say ecological with quotes because the insulation is very bad - windows let heat and sound come through, so not a real concern it seems. Took the most expensive hotel to get good wifi and some work done. Poor experience.

It’s a nice but simple beach resort. I think it’s overpriced for what you get (I payed like 70USD per night, 50USD would be a fair price). There is a private beach. But access to the water is restricted by daytime and only for snorkeling. If you just like to swim you have to walk to other beaches :(

"Awesome fun vacation would highly recomend."

Private beach with good snorkeling close to the dive shops we dove with. AC was essential because it was way to hot out. On-site massage and spa.

There were lots of stairs so we got our workout.

"A great hotel"

10.0

(1) Perfect location: very quiet, on the other side of a hill so sounds from beach bars don't reach the rooms. It's especially apparent when you walk from the room to the beach in the evening: after you cross the summit you start hearing music from beach bars / restaurants, ones you didn't hear close to the room. (2) Quiet air conditioner: not very strong but sufficient for the room. (3) Decent-sized (not a small minibar type) and quiet (!) fridge, we for example bought fruits and stored them in it. (4) Basically nothing disturbs your sleep when in the room (except possibly your partner? ;-). (5) The real hidden gem is hotel's private beach, snorkeling on it you can see plenty of baby reef sharks!!! I saw maybe about 12 at the same time. Pro tip: don't swim too fast or too much, actually move your hands and feet as little as possible, otherwise you'll scare the sharks. Just get to the right place (a bit further out from the shore, near the rope) and wait a bit. Sharks will come. And don't swim in the area to the right of the entrance limited by rope, it's an area reserved only for the sharks. Instead, hold on to the rope so that you don't need to move and don't scare sharks away. (6) Nearby hotel Blanco Beach Resort has a very good restaurant next to the Tepanee's private beach, and this restaurant serves very tasty food and fresh juices. (7) Soft, comfortable beds (memory foam but it's fine). (8) Nice furnuture, room had a work table. (9) Good WiFi. (10) Hotel is built on a hill so you can save up on gym - just walking to / from your bungalow will burn enough calories ;-) (11) Views from this hill and the partner restaurant are breath-taking.

None of these presented problems for us, but FYI: (1) Rooms have wooden floors and they are creaky! One person just walking in the room can wake up another person sleeping. Also people on the first floor in 2-floor bungalows can hear people walking on the second floor. (2) Air conditioner blows directly on to the bed, so it's often cold when turned on and hot when turned off. I dealt with this by almost closing the vent manually so that air goes directly down. (3) Strange policy: you need to show the credit card used to book the hotel, like they try to combat fraud. This is a thing some airlines (rarely) do, but I've never seen this in a hotel. The card I used was a virtual card so it doesn't exist in physical form, but they accepted seeing the card in my bank application. (4) Reception has a sign "water refill" but there is no water refill there actually, so if 1 liter of free drinking water per day is not enough you'll need to buy bottles of water from mini-bar at 80 PHP per bottle (inflated price obviously). (5) Hotel's partner restaurant used for breakfasts and dinners, called Amihana, is let's say below average, food is not very tasty. (6) If you (as most people) come there for diving, one important thing to consider is the distance from your hotel to the dive shop. You will need to walk to and from your chosen dive shop every day, often on sand (I don't think most dive shops offer pick ups), often early in the morning. This hotel is in one corner of the island, so distance to dive shops on the other side might be too large to be comfortable, make sure you check the distance when you make plans.

"Awesome week"

10.0

I had an awesome week in my little bungalow. The private beach to go snorkeling is perfect, and staff really take care of it. At night it is quiet and the room is spacious and airco works well. The bathroom is a good size, and the shower is great. The matras is more on the older side, but still I slept really well. There is instant coffee in the room, and the mini fridge is filled with drinks. The breakfast buffet is basic, but it has everything you would want. In general, food on the island anywhere ranges from 'meeeeeeh' to 'urgh', so I enjoyed breakfast even more. There are a lot of steps to walk up and down, which might be a challenge for some. All in all I very much enjoyed my stay! Would recommend and I would come back!

"Very much enjoyed my stay here and would stay again"

Maybe the best location on the whole island. Right next to the baby sharks and the best beach I found on malapascua. Peaceful, quiet, excellent breakfast, conveniently located to everything. There are a lot of long/small stairs to walk up and down around this whole place (cause its built on the side of a hill). Didnt really bother me, but could maybe see it bothering some, so you should be ok with that.

I booked dives at a dive shop and upon arrival found out it was pretty far of a walk through sand with my big camera system. It was no problem for the diveshop to send a small boat and pick me up and drop me off at the beach next to hotel daily.

"Quiet Spot on Malapascua"

10.0

Great stay close to the ferry pier. The dining/breakfast area had a great view and wonderfully cool breezes. Hot water was a bit on and off and a minor gripe... the a/c and fan were great but it would be nice to have something slightly thicker than a sheet to sleep under ... or an extra blanket. Otherwise a very enjoyable hotel!
