Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel

Beautiful! The resort, the room, the people - all beautiful!! The rooms were comfortable and clean! The bed was comfortable and the air con was a blessing! The only down side was the roosters lol! But other than that we could not fault the room. The breakfast was very very basic… but edible and you could order other things at a cost. The pool area and beach access was lovely! I would 100% stay again!

The fact that it is a small boutique hotel where the staff quickly learn your name. Nothing was a problem. Plus the view of the sea and close proximity was amazing.

Basic breakfast, I would like to see better bread selection and something like crumble eggs . Oh BTW : the bread was stale . Also pick up bus , the time was 30 min earlier than a receptionist told me .

We spent 10 wonderful days at Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed every moment! Our accommodation was fantastic: walking distance to a beautiful beach, well designed and equipped room and very relaxed and friendly restaurant. The staff were very polite, welcoming and friendly. Our meals at the restaurant were delicious - the Ika Mata was absolutely amazing! We plan to visit the Cook Islands again in the future and will definitely stay at Moana Sands again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Moana Sands Lagoon Resort! The location is perfect — right on the lagoon and just a short walk to Muri’s night market and other attractions. Our room was spotless and beautifully set up, with everything we needed and an incredible view straight over the pool and lagoon. The staff were one of the highlights — friendly, professional, and they actually remember your name and room number, which makes it feel really personal. The food was great too, especially the catch of the day and a cold beer by the pool. The facilities are top-notch — kayaks, a beautiful pool, and even little touches like stone bowls to rinse off your feet. Great value for money and one of the best places we’ve stayed in Rarotonga. Highly recommend!

Moana Sands Beachfront Hotel offers a stunning location right on the beach, with unbeatable ocean views and excellent snorkelling just steps from your room. The amenities are the hotel’s highlight, giving guests a true “feet-in-the-sand” island experience (use of kayaks, snorkelling gear, etc). The staff were super friendly and welcoming, though I found the hotel a bit inflexible with early and late checkouts despite trying to arrange it prior to arrival and several times whilst there. We also saw the community dogs urinating on the lounger cushions several times - so check before using. Our room was comfortable but could use some upkeep — there was mould in the air conditioning and bathroom and the bug screens had gaps). Breakfast was decent, but dinner was underwhelming, especially with much better dining options nearby. Overall, it’s a beautiful spot for the location and beach access, but a few updates and more flexibility would make the stay much better value for money.
