This was a fabulous stay! The rooms/buildings are former plantation houses from around Malaysia that have been dismantled, brought to Langkawi and reassembled. The result is an amazingly charming mix of colonial charm. The gardens too are exotic with birdlife and the pool is possibly one of the best pools I’ve ever had the pleasure of swimming in. The airport runway is nearby but with only a handful of flights per day it was not a negative, I really enjoyed watching the planes! The staff are all lovely and a complimentary later check out time was so much appreciated. Thank you!

The only thing that would have enhanced my stay even more would be a few more gluten free options, maybe some bread or a cake option.

No hot water on arrival and one of the bathrooms had to wait for following morning for team to come into fix it. No apology Cleaning not perfect Having said we wanted table for dinner on arrival there was none to be had on terrace when we appeared. Again no apology Too far from main beach/village

We loved this hotel, small and personal. The rooms are traditional and provide everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. We particularly appreciated their toiletries as they were obviously derived from natural ingredients. The buffet breakfast gave you plenty of choice, we thought the muesli was the best we had ever had! We had our evening meal here each night and thought it was very good value for money. We particularly enjoyed Monday nights live music! The pool area was perfect for us and we never had a problem finding a sunbed whatever time we went. The staff are just wonderful, so kind and always a smile and a warm welcome. We would highly recommend The Temple Tree to others.

It’s a small hotel with a colonial feel.The rooms were large and we had some outside space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the coffee was exceptional, probably the best we had in our tour of Asia. Dinner was also good although the menu is quite small. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and everything works smoothly. The swimming pool is not great but much appreciated as were the sun loungers . Gardens are well maintained. It’s a quiet hotel which we very much enjoy. Easy and cheap to get a Grab car into town.

Could do with some cheap but effective maintenance, e.g. hole in the outside door to then garden. This allows insects to get into the room. It just needs some attention to fix these small issues out. Don’t really understand why they have 1 sun bed in a twin room. The lack of a direct beach area is a little disappointing. Probably the proximity to the airports precludes any development there.

Wir haben drei wunderbare Nächte im Temple Tree in Langkawi verbracht – zusammen mit unserem zehn Monate alten Baby. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel ist einfach wunderschön und ganz besonders: Jedes Häuschen stammt von einem anderen malaysischen Ort und wurde hier liebevoll restauriert. Das Interieur ist einzigartig gestaltet, man merkt sofort die Liebe zum Detail und das feine Auge für Ästhetik. Das Essen war hervorragend – so sehr, dass wir kein einziges Mal außerhalb gegessen haben. Die Terrasse lädt einfach zum Verweilen ein und man genießt jede Mahlzeit in entspannter Atmosphäre. Die Unterkunft selbst lädt perfekt zum Abschalten und Entspannen ein – wir waren traurig, als wir wieder abreisen mussten. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr kinderlieb. Wir können das Temple Tree jedem empfehlen, der ein ganz besonderes Hotel sucht, in dem man Ruhe, Schönheit, Herzlichkeit und exzellentes Essen erlebt.

Chambre très bruyante : nombreux passages, appels à la prière. Nous n’avons pas été prévenues du bruit par l’établissement. C’est dommage.
