Lovely apartment (separate lounge / kitchen, bedroom and bathroom) in traditional style. Friendly staff and nice location - although a little way from other pubs, etc. Nice swimming pool and good restaurant

Great little hotel in the lakes, nice rooms, good food and not too expensive. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

This stay was amazing. A family break for my wife’s birthday. The location and accommodation is amazing and the all the staff and service was simply wonderful. A special shout out to Mags on reception, a very warm and friendly welcome. Thoroughly recommended. Also worth noting that you can take your dogs if you have want to! I don’t have any, just thought it was worth the mention. Absolutely amazing cooked breakfast, we will be returning. Thank you so much. Well done to all the staff. We loved it

Easy to find and park. Really friendly welcome, room was lovely, food was fantastic. Loved the offer of complimentary tea/coffee & cake on arrival. Nice touch and cakes were lovely. Service excellent throughout and loved the little dog treat bag in the room for Lexi. Would recommend and would return

It was ok, don't think i'll be staying there again. You had to book for the swimming pool the sunna wasn't working . The hotel could do with refurb. Not a very good selection of evening meals. Breakfast ok. The room that we stayed in was ok had to go on patio to see view of mountains , when i booked it said view of mountains which was very disappointing cause it wasn't.

First, the staff. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by warm smiles, we were there for a 3 night stay and not a single staff member showed a sign of being unhappy in their work. We think this speaks highly of Alistair & Jo, who clearly run a happy ship! The staff were friendly, efficient and unflustered. Far too few hotels in our experience, can share this boast! Our allocated apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Everything about the shower, wc, lounge and bedroom was lovely although I didn't care much for the metal headboard which I found uncomfortable whilst sitting up to read or watch TV - minor irritation and I couldn't work out how to use the oven in the kitchen - but didn't really need this anyway! The food served in the restaurant was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located 2 miles from Cockermouth and 9 miles from Keswick and ideal for hillwalkers, owners who love to exercise their dogs, ramblers or even the infirm who simply enjoy the scenery that is right there, in front of this really nice hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here - but everybody i different!
