Embleton Spa Hotel

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with excellent views. The staff were very friendly and there was a nice personal touch with everything they did for you. If you are there on a Saturday the Sunday lunch sharing platters are a must have

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Embleton Spa Hotel. The apartment room was very spacious. The Jacuzzi bath and power shower were great. My wife had a couple of spa treatments, which she felt were very beneficial.

Great Accommodation. Good friendly service and wonderful food in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast. My wife and I stayed here with our dog and he was made very welcome.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Excellent staff and service, the food in particular was exquisite, truly. Rooms were spacious (we stayed in 'windermere'), clean and well appointed. Dog friendly. Also, great location - close to Cockermouth town and if you are looking to explore Western Lake District.

The only thing we think need upgrading is some comfortable seating outside and some lighting outside

Nice hotel, good location but if your booking this hotel because the pool gives you a wet weather option, the pool times are very restricted as the hotel guests have to fit in with membership bookings.

Great hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. The apartment was clean and roomy with excellent facilities which had we stayed longer been able to use more. The restaurant is excellent with freshly cooked food and a decent choice.

Comfortable room and food was good. Spa was very busy so only limited use.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights during the first week of June and had a great time. The hotel is small but perfectly formed and in a great location for exploring the Lake District. We opted for an apartment style room with a kitchenette which was great as it meant we could prepare picnic food and sandwiches etc for our days out, whilst still enjoying the (very tasty) breakfast options and hearty dinners in the hotel restaurant. The food is excellent. Not fine dining, but honest, tasty food clearly cooked with care and attention. We didn't have a bad plate of food for our entire stay. The lamb shank with delicious buttery mash and heritage carrots (and lashings of excellent gravy) was my highlight and my wife had the trout (which was a special one night) that she said was the best thing she ate on our entire trip (which included some other "fancier" hotels and restaurants). Staff were all very friendly, service was relaxed but always with a smile and I'm not sure I've ever been anywhere quite so dog friendly, which was amazing! Should you wish then your (well behaved) dog(s) can join you for meals, which (as dog owners ourselves) we thought was awesome! Breakfast was also delicious and freshly prepared each morning with bags of choice. Due to Covid the pool had to be pre booked, but actually it was really nice as when we did go for a dip, it was a bit like having a private pool. The whole place was spotless & eco friendly (right down to the toilet roll)!
