per essere un 4 stella debbono migliorare il servizio di acqua calda, e qualche ritocco alle maniglie delle porte per essere un 4 stelle necessita di qualche piccola aggiustatina nelle camere, e non capisco i 10 € giornalieri per un cane di piccola taglia, loro avevano parecchi animali in giro per l'hotel

Beautiful building, elegant and spacious. The rooms were large and airy. The grounds and garden lovely. The place is in the middle of a vineyard. Gorgeous.

The food service. When I made the reservation I was approached by a man who asked what I wanted for dinner. It was then that I deduced that the advertised family run restaurant with local dishes was not operating. With the language barrier between us, I agreed to a cheese plate to start (bruschetta or a caprese couldn’t be done. That to be followed by a meat dish, I wanted something fresh. So I declined salmon (which couldn’t be fresh and would have been farmed) and also various types of sausage and cured meats. I asked about beef, and was offered hamburger. I settled on chicken. When I came down to dinner, the cheese plate was simply that. Three kinds of non-descript cheese with a small tub of honey and one of marmalade. No real effort to dress the plate, no crackers, nuts or even toasted bread slices. But at least it was real cheese. Then the chicken dish arrived. One small chicken breast and some potatoes. The potatoes were of the type that one would see on the self service breakfast buffet at the economy type of American hotels, labeled as breakfast potatoes. Commercially precooked, packaged, sold and reheated to serve. Rubbery and tasteless. The chicken was thin, dry, stringy, tough and tasteless. Also precooked and reheated. I returned the plate and the “cook’ approached and tried to convince me that I was wrong and that he had freshly cooked everything. I have spent more than 40 years in the hospitality industry and I know reheated food when it is presented to me. The chicken plate was replaced with a piece of saute’d fish covered with a melange of raw sliced cherry tomatoes and sliced black olives. Accompanied by a raw, sliced tomato. Nothing else. No dressing, no seasoning, no pasta, rice or any starch. No effort. So my entire dinner consisted of some pieces of cheese, a piece of fish, some tomato and a small amount of olives. For which I believe I was charged Euro 30.
