This visit was a reminder to ALWAYS thoroughly read reviews, something I failed to do on this occasion as I was in a hurry. No wonder it was relatively cheap and still available. We arrived and departed within 15 minutes. The property could be, and possibly once was, and elegant guest house/Inn with great views. However it is seriously run down. It is accessed via a heavily potholed dirt track, the first sign. There is no reception as such, just a bar. I found the staff (owner?) in the kitchen, who gave me a key and directed me to an outside door. I left myself in and looked around; the feeling engendered was perhaps that of someone evicted and forced into emergency bed sit in the wrong part of town... I'd paid for this? More fool me. We handed the key in and left. The staff was not bothered as he'd got our money.

What I wonderful little hotel situated in absolutely the absolute middle of nowhere yet to drive up I really poor quality country lane to get to it but when you get there I thought this place was just wonderful. There were two members of staff running the whole establishment the night I was there I met both of them in person and I thought they were absolutely lovely people . I met the chef who cooked some of the most amazing food I have ever had and I met the bar lady who was also the receptionist who checked me in and order my food for me . The service was faultless 2nd to none. The rooms were warm comfortable I had two beds in my room one of them was not comfortable at all but the other one was lovely and had a good nights sleep . The hotel was warm and comfortable. And for the cheap price that I paid to give you tea and coffee and I have a four size bar. The only thing that I thought was a little bit strange that you have to check yourself out and there is an anybody there to give your keys to you in the morning so you just have to improvise leave your key somewhere trustworthy but I think this place was absolutely With stunning views of Cornwall and Castle just roaming free I was gobsmacked that if she just walked up to me I wanted stroking LOL wasn’t like stroking my cat though but it was really different for me what an experience

The location and type of accommodation has a lot of potential, beautiful views, however it is looking very tired. The room was tidy and worked well

"Family stay"

The location and type of accommodation has a lot of potential, beautiful views, however it is looking very tired. Another downside is that there is no access to drinking water apart from the sink behind the bar which was only accessible when open. For the price I expected a little more considering it was the same price as a hotel.
