"Great location, Good hotel, Not very friendly"

8.0

The hotel is located walking distance from a lot of attractions in Phnom Penh, on a street filled with legit massage places, convenient store and tuk-tuks, but it also offers a quiet night sleep. When we arrived to the hotel, the front desk person was trying to charge us extra for an additional breakfast because when I booked the room, I didn't change the number of people staying from 1 to 2 (even thou that wouldn't have changed the price of the reservation). After a long traveling day, I had to spend another half hour to explain this gentleman that the price of the room is the same whether you have 1 or 2 people sleeping in the king bed. He finally agreed and we went into the room where I had to learn how to maneuver the most temperamental shower head I have ever seen in my entire life. The room was clean. Overall experience is good. This hotel really need to tell their staff that the customer is always right if you want people to return.

"Average hotel for the price"

4.0

Room was very basic and reasonably clean. One of the worst showers I have ever encountered in a hotel room. Very low and kept falling out of the shower hook.

"Very cheap. But ..."

It's very cheap but it's still expensive than the room condition and service. I won't go there again.

"Seems OK"

6.0

This was a satisfactory accommodation for the money. The location was a bit off as for being by the river and pubs and restaurants etc, but otherwise clean and polite staff and no complaints from me here.

"Diamond Palace - great!"

10.0

It's a great place in a convieient location - slap bang in the middle of town - equal distance from russian market and riverside. The staff were very curteous and helpful. Our room was tidied and beds made while we were at breakfast. Good choice for breakfast too. Cheap and perfect for a few days in Phnom Penh - I would stay there again.

"You get what you (don't) pay for"

4.0

So the hotel is quite cheap, so I guess that you should suspect that you get what you pay for. My first impression was alright, the lobby is part of a bar, but it looks quite clean. They also told me that they've upgraded me to a better room for the night. (I stayed for two nights). The only difference between the upgraded room and the none-upgraded room was that I had a window to the street. This wasn't really something positive since they trafic outside was right by my ear the whole night, which made it very hard to sleep. When I instead recieved my ordinary room I had a aircondition that sounded like a vacum cleaner which kept me awake for a long time. In the end I put the AC on coldest, let it run for a while, then turn it of to sleep and repeat the procedure when I wake up of the heat. Also, since I did not have any Wifi connection in my room (The first room I had conncetion to the wifi, but the second room I didnt) I had to sit in the lobby for many hours, in here I did see a big rat running across the floor which did not give a good impression.
