Apartamento Tavira Garden

We enjoyed our time in tavira garden. We had a ground floor apartment near to the small pool which was ideal for us. The boules court and bbq facility was not far away. Well worth a visit en famille, maybe not so good for couples in main season though we enjoyed it.

I booked here as I wanted to return to Tavira as I love the old town and the way it retains its old traditional style. The apartment I was given was very spacious and the living/dining room were perfect and looked as if they had recently been decorated the kitchen area however although adequate needs a bit of attention as the trim on the work surface was broken in parts and the cutlery was melted on some of the handles. The bathroom was definitely starting to show it’s age and the tank held sufficient hot water for one person to shower and then ran cold would be an issue if more than one of you wanting to get ready for a night out. I must comment on the fact that it was however very clean just rather dated. The bed although very comfortable was frayed around the base and the duvet cover was showing signs of ‘bobbling,’

A very nice place quit and clean. Walking distans to the center of Tavira a nice town with a lot to expirience, A lot of golf courses in the neighborehood. It is recomended to rent a car to fully enjoy all. Good food a lot of shops and café , many really old buildings and churchis(28).

Currently staying here post Xmas. Nice weather, lovely scenery. Front door to building we were initially to stay in for 4 nights had a faulty lock that needed replacement, so we and everyone else had to struggle for half an hour just to gain entrance. Although we had unpacked everything in our basically adequate apartment, we visited Monica, the agent in the reception and asked for another apartment. At first she said all the apartments were in the same building, so we had no choice. But then she magically found one right next door to reception. The door was easy to open, the interior was fine, though searingly ugly colours, a bed that was just a mattress atop a heavy concrete slab, wardrobe with hanging space so high we couldn’t reach it, a ‘vent’ that was just wide open to the outdoors (in December), water temp set at scalding, and a shower with a dangerous slippery floor. The kitchen cupboards were huge, but much of the space was unreachable. Good points: a heater/a.c. Unit, a t.v., though a terrible signal, so unwatchable. A dishwasher, a fridge, washing machine, coffee maker, microwave and induction hob. It took a long time to read instructions for the latter two, but we got there eventually. Other niggles: no bidet, bed incredibly high off the floor -we practically needed a ladder to get in and out. No WiFi. We were told we could have it if we paid 6 euro extra per day. No thanks! When almost every accommodation offers WiFi free, why would we pay? Tavira Garden was an affordable option for our break, Monica was very helpful, but the apartments have not been properly thought through from the guests’ viewpoint. Many amenities on site, from swimming pool to sauna and restaurant. But also lots of room for improvement.

The complex is located on a very busy road which we found difficult to walk along and cross safely. Once we managed to do so, the walk into town only took about fifteen minutes. The apartment was very reasonably priced so we expected basic and that's what we got. It would only take a few little additions to bring it up to par though. The shower was a small hose attached to the bath. Replacing it with a larger head and mounting it on the wall would be a great advantage for future holiday makers. A few extra power points would be a great boost also. Aside from that, the management were very welcoming and helpful. The complex was extremely clean and the pool was wonderful.

I recommend but "good" not "fantastic". Simply: Positives - Tavira is a must-see especially if you like quality restaurants (at reasonable prices) in an authentic town setting. The only down-side to the town is limited activities (e.g. for families we hoped for mini-golf but the only one was closed in August!) - The beach is amazing and perfect. Fine sand, South facing, all the facilities (bars, restaurants, sunbed in different sizes with different prices). The only down-side is that it takes time - but the ferry is cheap and enjoyable at just 20 minutes. The negatives: - Tavira Garden is nice (Great pool, our apartment was quiet and spacious) but further from the town than ideal. With small children it took us 15-20 minutes, and the first 1-2 minutes are in the road with limited path (There is a separate space for pedestrians but no curb; it is literally 2 minutes or less). We got a Taxi back, only €5. - The apartment (spacious & quiet) was quote dated, it needs modernising. I only mean for decor e.g. bathroom; thankfully the kitchen had a Dishwasher & Washing machine, which is great. So I recommend, but some 'qualifying statements' and I hope the above is specific enough to be helpful.

Recently stayed here having rented an apartment for two weeks, really nice gardens pool area and very friendly staff, the lady who runs the pool bar/restaraunt is really nice and serves really tasty lunchtime meals, she will even cook you an evening meal if you give 24 hrs notice,just let her know what you want and she will get it for you and serve in the indoor restaraunt ,she gave us a free starter as well,very reasonable price and great meal.Give it a try if you stay here you won't be disappointed, better than walking into town.Others have said The 20 minute walk into town can be dodgy but we found it to be ok,you can get a taxi for 3 or 4 euros if you wish.

The complex itself is quite good with good gardens and 2 pools to choose from. The location is terrible. All you can hear from balcony is traffic and the views consist of a massive shopping complex and cranes etc.... The walk into tavira itself is as much dangerous as ugly. No real path by the road and would never do with children. NEVER. The only good thing was a really pleasant night listening to live jazz at the tavira bar. The lady hosting when we were there was wonderful. Stay away if you want a peaceful setting with a view.

Brilliant stay in Tavira Garden. Nice pool, pleasant staff and very relaxing place to stay.Our apartment was spotless and ambience was calming. Highly recommend staying here. I can say I will be back..

We stayed for 2 weeks in April. We rented an apartment from one of the owners. The apartments sit in beautifully maintained gardens with a tennis court and a swimming pool. There is a bar / bistro beside the pool. The people running it are new and are lovely. They arrange various events and entertainment, for example we went to their indendence day celebration with a traditional Portuguese guitar player/singer. It was a great evening. They also had a jazz duo playing in the garden, they were good fun. The pool area is well maintained with loungers and umbrellas. There are many (more than you can visit) restaurants in Tavira which is a short walk away (15 mins). We did this most nights because we love trying new places. I can really recommend Casa de Tella and Copos & Petiscos. Great restaurants. The apartment itself was great, clean, well equipped and plenty of space for two. We had a ground floor balcony that opened onto the lawn so breakfast was most often on the lawn. Thank you everyone involved in Tavira Gardens for a memorable holiday.
