Cabot Pollensa Park Spa - Family Resort

Have been to this hotel four times. It used to be a good three star. Now it is being run by the Fergus group the price has gone up considerably to go with the new 4 star status. Unfortunately all the hotel got was a makeover which has not added any real value. The rooms are the same size. (very small), with less places to put belongings because there is now a small fridge. Our air conditioning was very ineffective and didn't improve after we asked for it to be looked at. Service for the fresh cooked hot plates was very slow. There was no anticipation of the queue so you ended up with cold sides while you waited for the meat/fish to be cooked. The quality of the actual food was good but it wasn't put together in a coherent menu. For example when there was steak, there were no onion rings or mushrooms but strangely there were calamari rings in batter! There were very few sauces to with the main courses. The pool snack bar is now a Mexican restaurant, I assume to help achieve the 4th star. We were told we could only use it once on our all inclusive for two weeks without additional cost. To be honest you really wouldn't have paid to go again, the menu didn't vary and it was not very inspiring. The entertainments team were superb last year and really tried to get everyone involved. This year I saw them being told by management to quieten things down, perhaps to be more in keeping with their 4 star status, but I think this was a mistake. The drink was of a better quality than before but the pool bar was closed long before the entertainment finished which mean't there could have been a queue of 20 people waiting at the only other bar towards the end of the night, even if you only wanted a bottle of water. I have always found the staff helpful but was disappointed by the very minor changes to go with a steep price rise, particularly given the very favourable exchange rate.

A clean well designed hotel suitable for families who want to spend the whole holiday in the complex. Staff were mostly very good. However the all inclusive majority was the downside. Branded with a purple wristband, food was mass produced and average. The compound mentality of guests putting their towels on sunbeds at 6am was irritating. Port of Polenssa is a beautiful location.

Overall the hotel was great. The room was comfortable, clean and individually air conditioned. The only drawback to our room location was that it was directly next to the outdoor stage in the pool area. The music from the nightly shows (until 11 pm) was so loud it shook the windows. Not good if you have early morning activities or little ones. The front desk would do nothing about the volume when asked. As for the rest of our stay, it was wonderful. The hotel is a five minute walk to the beach and close to many restaurants, bars, a grocery store, and a doctor. I loved that we could borrow towels with a deposit and exchange them for fresh ones a many times as needed, for use at the pool and beach. The pool was large and clean, with many sun beds and some umbrellas. The pool area had its own bar and restaurant. The main hotel restaurant was a large, cafeteria style with a wide variety of food choices for each meal. The hotel had a ramp next to most steps for easy wheelchair/ stroller access. The hotel puts on a variety of entertainment daily, including kid shows, water Zumba, water polo, and short concerts featuring local talent. Wifi was free in the room.

Excellent and secure bike storage, great and plentiful food, ideal for pre-and post-ride fuelling; nice pool area, cycle hire/bike shop/cycle cafe across the road, supermarket opposite, couldn't ask for more.

Well priced for the stay. Especially considering late booking. All Inclusive came with a large range of drinks and food. The lunch and dinner buffets may benefit from an increased quality if the vast range was reduced to a few main dishes. The other benefit this could bring would be at table service. This would elevate the dining experience to match the expectations made by the room.

Great stay, could hav been a bit warmer, but that is not the hotels fault!

I have used this hotel since the mid 1990's for cycling training holidays with friends and family. formerly owned by the Cabot Group it struggled with food quality and reminded me of the BBC program " Hotel Babylon". Now under new ownership "Fergus" their is a definite improvement in the food quality, the rooms and above all, facilities for our expensive bikes - Puerto Pollenca is a great base for any cycling holiday with good roads in both the mountains and on the flat. In 7 days I cycled 280 miles in warm sunshine, which is fantastic coming out of the British winter.

This hotel was everything we wanted for a cheap break; clean, well located near to the beach and town's facilities, well equipped room and lovely balcony, good facilities including a large, clean pool and plenty of sunbeds. The food at the hotel was reasonable for a three-star, and there was always plenty of choice at both breakfast and dinner (we were half board). Overall, highly recommended.

Not sure if they had made a mistake while booking the hotel, but we were upgraded to a room with a fridge and sea view, which was nice. Used the tennis courts a lot.

2nd visit to this hotel and pre-booked the superior room to get the end view across the bay and it is totally worth it!! All rooms have good views but the ones across the bay are superb. A great place to stay with children, plenty to do either in the hotel, on the beach or out and about.
