Just had a 2-night stay here and it was everything I hoped it would be. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we were lucky enough to get a room upgrade on arrival. The room was very spacious, comfy bed, excellent shower and all the amenities you could want. View was of the garden which was well kept and very peaceful to sit out in. The decor is quirky which is one of the reasons I wanted to stay there, just loved it!! So much so that we have just booked another 2-night stay in July for our anniversary! Can't wait to return.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Gave us a room upgrade on arrival. The room was very spacious and had every amenity you could need. Excellent shower. Views into the garden which were well kept and very peaceful to sit out in. The hotel itself is very quirky, which is one of the reasons I wanted to stay, loved it so much that we have booked another 2-night stay in July for our anniversary.

Breakfast was fantastic and the grounds are really pretty. The staff were all very friendly.

Despite us booking a double deluxe and confirming ahead of time that it would be a double bed, it was in fact 2 single mattresses pushed together. This makes for a really uncomfortable sleep as the mattresses did not align and left a very notable ridge right down the middle of the bed.

A sympathetic conversation/upgrade/extension of this wonderful period property which retains its historic charm and connections to the family of Beatrix Potter. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and comfortable and it was a joy to stay here. The staff team is first rate; not only professional and highly competent, but friendly and charming too. Not only all that, but the food and beverage offering is also excellent.

Went to a baby shower here and had afternoon tea, was not worth the money, they even gave me custard cream biscuits on it. Have had better afternoon tea elsewhere, will not be coming back. Have emailed the manager and head chef, have not had a reply from either of them , customer service not good.
