Very good experience , amazing island , helpful staff

It was our 2nd stay at Sun Island in the last 11 years and it did not disappoint. The staff are so friendly and they go out of their way to help you. There is so much to do on the island so you will not be bored. The staff work so hard to keep the Island immaculate. The superior beach bungalows are spacious and spotlessly clean. The food is very good and there is lots of choice to suit everyone's tastes.

Excellent resort with a lot of room type options. Stayed in a Water bungalow, which was a wonderful experience. This is a must try in Maldives. Also, take the opportunity to observe the night sky here. Our west facing water bungalow offered unbelievable views of stars and even faint views of the Milkyway galaxy cloud (late October) on nights of clear skies. Rooms were excellent and well worth the price. Overall, all facilities including the restaurants, resort activities and most service is good. Only complaint is that some Waiters in restaurants do not serve Indian guests the way they do others. I think they just assume that they will not get a tip and do not care to serve, which is a shame. Apart from this, it is a very good place to enjoy a vacation overall.

We had a truly wonderful time on Sun Island. All bungalows are right be the beach and you have your own little space with sun loungers and chairs. Hotel staff are super friendly and helpful. They had arranged our transfer from Male airport and everything went swimmingly. We were half board and enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffet and its big and daily changing variety. The perfect location if you are after a super relaxing holiday and taking in the incredible scenery.

We loved Sun Island. We stayed in one of the stilt houses and it was incredible. We were able to walk down the stairs directly into the ocean. The view was awesome, the room was good, and the facilities on the island were good. There is a free shuttle to the sister island of Holiday Island, which has better snorkeling than Sun Island. The only things we didn't like were the Whale Shark excursion and the shark and ray feedings. The Whale Shark excursion was unlimited in numbers, so when we did find a whale shark, dozens of people piled into the ocean and scared the shark away. They really need to limit the number of people on the excursion. Eventually, if they keep this up, the whale sharks will just go away rather than be harrassed by snorkelers and divers. The divers actually touched the whale shark on the face and took photos with flash directly in its face, blinding it temporarily. Disgusting behavior! When we first got to Sun Island, we thought the ecosystem must be very healthy due to the number of sharks we saw. However, we then realized there were so many because they were being fed nightly. That is a terrible practice and actually harms the sharks and the ecosystem. They should stop doing this. The staff, especially the cleaning staff, were very helpful and kind. We had a great stay and hope to return some day.

the resort is not at all worth the price, even though we had taken full board package the hotel simply refused to give free drinking water even in the restaurant during lunch dinner or breakfast time, that is absurdity at its highest level, we felt cheated, the water sport activities are so expensive that we could not try even one of them, there is no control on prices from the hotel side, even there is no senior staff or sales representative available to whom we can refer our queries, once you land there it is as if you are at the mercy of the hotel staff, we had been to other property last year and it was far far superior to this place, even the food spread for vegetarians is quite limited and not many options are available, i would never recommend this place to any of my family, friends colleagues or anyone else, certainly a very poor show!!

Waiting long time to check-in (almost 1 hr), change room (1+ hr), enter restaurant (10+ mins). Wasting lots of our valuable time. Found hotel are using paper based process to record everything for such large property with over 100 rooms. What a mess !!!

A great bargain in such a 4-star resort. Big island for a family with kids. We stayed for four nights and it seems not enough. Recommended for longer stay. A lot of activities for kids and definetely a good resort for people who likes to mingle around.

all our stay was good and there are no complaints. the staff was always very friendly and helpful a small complaint : just small delays to send the buggy to the room. the rest was perfect.
