"Great tented camp in the Masai Mara"

10.0

Wow, that's all I can say! Safari in the Masai Mara is incredible, and the Mara Intrepids was definitely a part of that! The tented camp is wonderful, with amazing, spacious tents along the river. We saw elephants, hippos, impala and crocodile from the tents (behind an electric fence so safe). Calling it a tent, doesn't give the accommodation justice. It's very spacious, with a four poster in the middle of the room. The bathroom area is also a very good size, and well stocked with hairdryer and toiletries. The Safari itself blew us away, we stayed for 3 nights and saw the big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant) by day 3. Not to mention the Cheetahs (and cubs), Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and everything else the Masai Mara has to offer! Our safari game driver Dixon was incredible - what a guy! He was extremely knowledgeable with over 27 years of game driving experience. His experience definitely helped us find the very rare rhino, as well as his ability to second guess what and where the animals would be which meant we got some fantastic photographs. We can't thank Dixon enough for his efforts, you made our Safari experience. His love and passion for the animals really showed, and made the experience even better! As well as the above, the food at Mara intrepids was top notch. No one will go hungry! The service was great, thanks to Josphat, but you could tell everyone was trained to an excellent standard.

"Maravilhoso "

10.0

O hotel é no meio do Mara. É maravilhoso. O staff é fantástico, super prestativo. Com exceção do rinoceronte, que nao existem mtos lá, vimos todos os animais diversas vezes. O motorista Paul foi mto atencioso e esforçado para que víssemos todo tipo de bicho. Espero voltar!

"AMAZING SAFARI CAMP!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

10.0

My wife and I stayed at Mara Intrepid for four nights. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had traveling. Starting from the beginning, the service was excellent. We were picked up on time from the Olkiombo airstrip (two minutes from camp) and greeted with fresh juice and smiles. Our room was beautiful and spotless (Thanks John!). Showers were hot and the warm water packets at night were a nice touch. We did our daily safaris with Michael who was fantastic (if you can request Michael, do so!). Michael was extremely attentive, informative, and kept our happiness front of mind. We saw 50+ lions, lots of cheetahs and leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocs, and baboons. It was great to go in November as it is low tourist season in the Mara. We also saw many newborns as it is birthing season. Rain was not an issue at all. In addition the food was top notch. My wife is vegetarian and she had no issues. The food menus were well stocked with meat and vegetarian apps and entrees. Kudos to the chef and his team! Our server, Nelson, made us feel incredibly welcome and at home every day we were there. Also on our 4th night, the staff planned a private dinner for the two of us which was a nice surprise to end our stay. Thanks to Daniel for always being welcoming and having a Tusker ready for me. Overall the staff at Mara Intrepid made us feel extremely welcome and at home during our stay. The kindness and hospitality surpassed our wildest expectations. Thanks to everyone!!

"Amazing safari adventure"

10.0

This was my first stay at the intrepids camp and it was an amazing experience. From our fantastic game drives to the hotel service, every experience was beyond my expectations. Great staff and we highly recommend Raph as the game driver. He was well experienced and found us a leopard every day we went out, not to mention all the other amazing animals as well.

"Great stay but a bit overpriced"

8.0

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Mara Intrepids for a long weekend. Overall, we had a great time. The park is beautiful and we saw almost everything you could hope for on the safari drives. The tents were nicely furnished and our particular one was secluded and right on the river. The staff was very friendly for the most part. The food was disappointing, but our server was dedicated to making sure we were happy so went out of his way to modify the menu. The website advertises that the hotel provides boiled water for drinking, however, they don't. Be prepared to pay for water bottles. Also be prepared to pay an additional $70 USD per person per night for park fees. We missed that in the fine print, so were a bit surprised at the end. Alcohol isn't included either, which for many safari companies it is. In our opinion, the price is a little steep for what the company offers and quality of the food, but it was still a wonderful time.

"Fantastic!"

10.0

Absolutely fantastic tented camp with wonderful staff, each eager to help you with anything you might need. Beautiful comfortable tented rooms. Our guide Sakut led us to the Big 5 in two drives, everything else was gravy....and there was lots of gravy. We also were fortunate enough to see a great migration river crossing...absolutely spectacular. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

"A lifetime of experience in 48 hours!"

10.0

We went to Mara Intrepids for my girlfriend's birthday weekend and it was just magical. The staff were all very friendly and efficient, and gave us excellent service from the moment they picked us up, at the airstrip a few hundred yards away. The best part about the visit was undoubtedly the game drives. Our driver/guide (Simon) was quite brilliant. He found, over the course of just four drives, the following: A migration of 500 wildebeest across the river being attacked by crocodiles; a cheetah kill from start to finish; a leopard with its kill up a tree; a lioness playing with four cubs to their heart's content; a fully grown male lion less than half a mile from the camp; herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra, hippos playing in the river; and so much more. The only things that Simon couldn't find were a rhino and a unicorn! What else can I say, the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful, the massage on the last day was very welcome after all those hours in a Land Rover, and the pool was refreshing. My only complaint was the utter blandness of the cheeseboard. Across the border in Tanzania the Engiteng Company make excellent cheese from Maasai cattle herds and all varieties taste great. I recommended them to one of the managers (Steve). Seriously, it costs a small fortune to stay here... but its worth every shilling!
