Hotel San Bada Resort & Spa

4 times going there, and i still wanna go there!!! Staff very nice.

We had an amazing time staying at the San Bada Hotel. The staff were all amazing! Christan our driver and tour guide was beyond helpful. He made our trip even more incredible with all his advice regarding the national park, waterfall tour, whale tour and all his information regarding our trip. The hotel was very clean. The sushi at the bar was amazing and the breakfast was great as well. Overall i have to say we had an amazing trip and i would high recommend this hotel. Thank you for such an incredible service San Bada hotel . You whole team from the servers to the reception were beyond all expectations. Thank you!!!

The breakfast is amazing. There’s a lot of animals around such as iguanas, different birds, and monkeys. We even saw a sloth on a tree in front of the hotel. They have an adult only pool on the roof which was great. The hotel is right next to the San Manuel Antonio National Park. The beach is less than a 5 minute walk. Public transportation is also 5 min walk. The only problem I had was the room had a funky smell, the AC dropped, and the pipe of the sink came off and water was all over the floor. Also, the common areas weren’t that clean at times. Wifi is okay. Oh and there was raccoons at night and lots of beetles. If you dont like occasional noises at night maybe you should reconsider another place.

The service was great but the pictures look nothing like the actual hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Next to national park. So quite convenient. Buildings and rooms were worn down, a bit dirty and had a funky smell

Location, location, location. The hotel is situated right at the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. The room was clean and comfortable with an ocean view. I will say that the walls were pretty thin; we were able to hear conversations in the next room, and the bar area on the 6th floor. It is a short walk down a path to the beach, although the beach in the national park is nicer. There are several places to eat nearby, however the food options tended to be geared towards park visitors looking for a quick bite after their adventures. They all had similar menus (burgers, fish tacos, quesadillas, etc). The hotel staff were all friendly. We did have an Expedia VIP offer which we did not receive at all during our visit.

We had to hotel almost to ourselves. Rarely saw other people, but even though it was beyond slow the staff were very helpful and kind. The only thing I would mention is that with so many other food options around you might want to think about eating dinner somewhere else. Breakfast was amazing though.

Hotel San Bada is an older hotel whose glory days appear to be in the past. While still a decent place, when comparing to the other hotels we stayed in around Costa Rica, it was expensive for you get. The reception staff appear bored and not particularly helpful, but all the restaurant staff were great. I tried to book a massage in the “spa” but when I arrived at the allotted time, no one was there, the place was locked up! The reception staff told me the therapists car had broken down and she would take some time to arrive - but I didn’t trust that this would actually happen (due to other previous issues) so I just cancelled and went to one of the other lovely spas in the area. Overall a very mediocre stay.
