Tout. Nous avons été surpris par la qualité du restaurant. Nous avons pris le menu et c'était excellent.

The hotel was set in the grounds of the Alhambra which was wonderful. Our room was spacious and clean. It looked over the cafe courtyard and out towards the General Life. We were very comfortable. The parador has beautiful gardens to its entrance. There is limited parking and it is necessary to book this in advance. We were pleased to secure parking and our car was valet parked. It was lovely eating lunch on the cafe terrace looking at the views. The restaurant was good too. We would recommend the fish baked in salt! The staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. The Alhambra itself is amazing - we went on both a day and a night tour and we're pleased we had done both. Granada itself was a good place to visit with its cathedral many historic sites. There were many good eateries. We would recommend staying here.

Our room was a little bland (though good) possibly rooms in the older part had more character. Our shower played up a little. Beware the gypsies as you walk into town. They press a piece of rosemary into your hand and tell you something basic or unintelligible! It was the priciest parador we stayed in but worth it!

The location and history of the building was lovely. The gardens were tranquil with a great view. The food at dinner was excellent.

Where to start? The staff were not particularly helpful or welcoming, we were left to work everything out ourselves. The service in the outdoor bar area (which doubled as the public cafeteria) was extremely slow and poor. We were left to stand to wait to be seated despite there being plenty of available tables all of which had been left uncleared due to lack of staff. The attitude of some of the waiters was very much one of ‘wait until I can be bothered with you’. This was also reflected in the breakfast service. In the restaurant the service was marginally better although we waited 30 minutes at our table to even be asked for a drink order. There was a total lack of atmosphere in the restaurant room and we would have expected much better for such a historic building. There was no bar open after dinner, so guests were wandering around a dark and silent reception area with nothing to do. We eventually gave up and went to bed. We also paid for a triple room but what we received was a double room with a portable camp bed squeezed into the corner (which was not long enough for an adult). Overall an extremely disappointing experience which was nowhere near worth the money we paid and we would not return. Hugely let down the good name of paradores.
