Ridgeview Lodge

We were met promptly by the reception lady and shown around. The room was well appointed and very clean and we enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect distance from where we needed to be and the parking was good.

A very serene environment, with a homely touch

Very quiet and peaceful. The host went out of her way to make the Comrades runners' stay more special, by offering an extremely early breakfast before the race and a special treat in the form of a free tasty dinner after the race to celebrate achievements amongst fellow guests/runners.

There were too many ashtrays on the property. An ashtray, whether clean or dirty is a sign of dirtiness as it promotes unpleasant dirty habits all over the show(only one area had a demarcated sign for those who choose to slowly kill themselves). I counted 10 ashtrays, which is an ugly sight in such a beautiful and tranquil setting.

The place was beautiful and clean. Snalo and her team were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was alooot and it was to die for. The room and the bathroom were clean and the beds were soft and lovely to sleep on. The whole lodge was welcoming.

There is nothing that I did not like. I didnt like that we only stayed one night.

What an amazing stay! From the moment we arrived, everything about this property exceeded expectations. The views alone are worth booking for; being able to see both the ocean and the harbour from the balcony was breathtaking and so peaceful. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. The service was exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. You could really tell that they cared about making guests feel comfortable. Breakfast was another highlight. Instead of a generic setup, they would ask for your preferences and freshly prepare your meal, which made the experience feel thoughtful and personal and the food was absolutely delicious. I also loved the little touches around the property, like the free library where you could borrow a book and relax either by the pool or on the deck area. The minibar was also well stocked and added to the convenience of the stay.

Very well done eggs, and the garden was lovely. I loved the area too! It was nice and quiet. The staff was fabulous, they were proactive right from the minute we were at the gate and they never stopped.

On arrival they offer you something to fill in with regards to what type of breakfast you would want. I definitely liked this, but I think it would be nice to have a rotation that could still be within the option you asked for. Every morning I had Parfait, pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs (they did offer to switch around the eggs), sausages, beans and toast. I think it would be nice to switch it around sometimes, because it did get a bit monotonous.
