Location was great. Staff were lovely.

The room was overall ok but the AC was very noisy and rattling as was the exhaust attached. When we turned to AC off to sleep there was a loud machine outside the window on a 2:30 min cycle which included two loud bangs - like a loud door knock. Not great for comfortable sleeping. It went all night.

Un très bel hôtel,, Personnels très accueillant et très gentils. Le dîner était délicieux et magnifique,une excellente expérience culinaire japonaise.Le petit déjeuner était aussi très bon. La situation géographique est bien situé, à proximité de temples et des lignes de bus. Je recommande cet hôtel pour une visite à Kyoto et y vivre une belle expérience.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was ok, but quite a distance from the main train station with luggage. Providing the sleeping kimonos was a nice touch.

Some taller chairs available for foreigners to borrow would be good as it is hard for us to get down on the floor and up again!

"Great stay in Gion"

Great staff, very helpful and accommodating to our late check in. Very information with places to visit, directions etc. Traditional futon room and traditional breakfast which was great.

Lack of an onsen but for us this was not a great priority. The location and staff more than made up for this.

"A delightful, restful, traditional ryokan, perfectly located in old Gion."

Breakfast was exceptional! It is a great way to "ease into" the kaiseki experience for those who are unaccustomed to it. They were accommodating to our granddaughter's vegetarian request. Mr. Badal Damodar was particularly helpful and kind to us, especially our 10 year old granddaughter.

Nothing! Well, an onsen would be nice, but probably not to be expected in the middle of Gion, which was a definite plus.
