Hotel Rusall

Not many hotels maintain their high standing but the Rusalls have managed to satisfy and more on every stay we have had in the past 20 years. The food is of Michelin one star category but much, much more reasonable. So book with half-board and you won't regret have four course dinners unmatched in most restaurants at Lake Como.

We had a wonderful stay here. We had a room with a balcony looking at the lake. Just beautiful!!!

We stayed in a balcony room overlooking the terrace and lake; what a view! This charming friendly family-run hotel is located in Rogaro, high above the Villa Carlotta and lakeside road in Tremezzina, and has a wonderful peaceful terrace with unbeatable views east to Bellagio and south to Lenno. You can eat your meals on the terrace or in the adjacent dining room. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the evening meal is 4 course with anti-pasti buffet. All the food is great, but especially the pasta is wonderful (the ravioli in butter with sage was incredible!), the panacotta delicious, and the tiramisu very rich! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Our room with en-suite shower was not spacious but adequate, and we slept well. We enjoyed many outings, including walks from the hotel up to Capella Alpini and a visit to the island of Comacina, and several boat trips to Bellagio and Varenna. But you will always be delighted to return to the beautiful terrace of the Hotel Rusall! We didn't have time to make use of the hotel pool or tennis court. There is a spacious garage (ps choose a small hire car for your Como holiday - roads in the villages are very narrow!)

Nice quiet family run traditional hotel in stunning position above Tremezzo on the banks of Lake Como . The rooms are a bit on the small side and lack A/C ( although we were advised by the owner that this latter point will be the subject of a winter 19/20 upgrade ) Never mind , the view makes up for it . Food is generally limited to that nights set menu , never mind , the view makes up for it ! We did choose to eat out one night at a local restaurant 100m down the road , just for a bit of variety , but the food at the Rusall is both freshly cooked and plentiful . The walk into town via a very steep footpath is a bit of a slog in the heat but don’t let that put you off , it’s only 30 mins down and 40 up . If i had one item of constructive criticism for the owners , please make the coffee pots the default choice at breakfast rather than the automated self serve machine .

Hotel Rusall is perched up high on the mountain with the most fabulous view. The owners are kind and accommodating. The rooms were very adequate and comfortable with lovely balconies.

OMG this place has the absolute BEST Restaurant! The figs, the proccuto, the artichokes, the peppers, the raviolis! The Barbara di Alba win! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! I WILL be back, I MUST go back! I cannot say enough about how this food tasted superb! I'm sorry I didn't stay at the Hotel.

Mycket mysigt och familjeägt hotell. Utsikten från hotellet är magiskt. Man ser både Bellagio och Varenna. Maten på hotellet var jättegod. Rummen är spartanska med endast takfläkt, men resterande övervägde. Vi kommer åka tillbaka.

Fantastisk service, mat och utsikt. Genuint hotell som vi gärna återvänder till.
