Splanzia

Chania has an old town and a new town. Splanzia is located in the old town with the old Venetian Harbor and Lighthouse. The surrounding area has so much personality and character. You really feel transported away from the modern world to a much simpler relaxing place. Staying at the Splanzia is like being invited to a friend's house and being well taken care of. The rooms are majestically designed and comfortable. The service is very friendly and they treat you like family. One of the most memorable things of the hotel among many memorable things is the amazing breakfast. The breakfast is made to order and the friendly lady brought many small dishes that gave us a real sample of a deliscious Greek breakfast. One day we had to leave early in the morning and the owner woke up early just to make us breakfast to go! The rooms had 4-poster beds which lent to the old world ambiance. Very happy we discovered this gem. Hope everyone gets to enjoy Splanzia as much as we did.

Hotel Splanzia is a beautifully renovated/maintained boutique hotel in the central part of Chania. Rooms are airy and a nice size, very comfortable for the price. The brothers who own/run the hotel could not be friendlier and more helpful. Possibly the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel, including homemade pastry and sweet items (which were different each day), served in a beautiful garden in the back. They even accommodated an early start one day when I was off to hike the Samaria Gorge. Very highly recommended.

We enjoyed our visit very much. The breakfast menu was excellent and the food was delicious. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Chania!
