Colours Oasis Resort ADULT ONLY

Some reviews are too harsh on this place. Yes, it needs a renovation in places, but this was a friendly and comfortable LGBT base for us to spent a couple of nights in San Jose. All staff were friendly and helpful, arranging things like airport transfers and massages, easily contactable by WhatsApp ahead of our stay. Our room was clean. Food and drinks (especially breakfast) were very good, and the pool area is beautiful, with lots of tropical plants.

I would never recommend this place. It is disgusting. From the food to the rooms, it should be shut down. I assume Costa Rica doesn’t have a health department that monitors such propertiee. There was a dog walking in the kitchen while cooking and inside the bar. The bartenders would put the dog and then serve food and drinks. I can not tell you enough to stay away from this gross establishment.

The name isn’t what it suggests. It’s very seedy. Sheets weren’t clean, significant mould on the shower head. The people running the place were lovely and helpful, but for what you’re paying there’s loads of other places to go It’s a party place, not a put your head down and sleep place. Pretty poor honestly, wouldn’t recommend

Great Gay Friendly hotel in San Jose. The staff are amazing, always helpful in making our stay more pleasant - this is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. It is not not a 5* hotel, but the rooms have all the necessities. When I travel for work I stay at one of the major brands in San Jose and pay over $200 per night - here the average rate is around $65-$75 per night. The bar is great (Eric makes amazing drinks) and the food is also very good. Yes there are a few dated things and yes the are some repairs to be made... But that happens at all hotels. This is a great location - great atmosphere - and like minded people.

The staff was great, but the property could definitely use some renovations. Room was not in great condition, shower barely worked, Food and drinks where good. Pool area was nice.

I stayed there for three nights. I was not looking for luxury so wasn’t expecting the taj majal. I was booked for four nights but left a night early. The staff was nice but the property is in such disrepair. My room had no hot water in shower, the safe wasn’t operational, the electrical was so dangerous I didn’t even charge my phone or other electronics into it. My room was towards the back and had a strange common area that it shared with another room which didn’t lock. How this is even rated other than price is beyond me. Yes, it’s a gay hotel and I am gay and it is Costa Rica, but the mattress/bedding/towels were all sub par, and the entire hotel needs a good power washing and facelift. Will not be coming back.

Overall great people and fun place to stay that is safe and quiet away from downtown San Jose. They were great to change my room to a nice one because the shower was dribbling in the smaller room that they received. But there is the problem, minor attention to detail. The shower pressure was fine, but the shower head (a small cost) needed to be replaced. Just small things like cups in the room are missing. But overall, great time!

The staff at Colours Oasis is amazing, very attentive, and are there to help you with ANYthibg. As a Queer traveler who has been subjected to discrimination for other hotel staff in San Jose, CR it’s important for me to find a place that is welcoming to me and my Queer Family while we travel and Colours Oasis IS that spot. Huge thanks to, Isreal the manager for taking excellent care of us.

When I arrived, the reception staff seemed confused, like they didn't realize I had a reservation and did not take time to explain or show me the property. When I got to the room it was missing many things: towels, a shower curtain, a key for the safe, hand/body soap and shampoo. The room also did not have a mini-fridge. The hotel bar plays loud music from around 8am to 1 or 2am, and the bass is audible throughout the hotel, making sleep difficult. Also there is nothing to do in the area where the hotel is located, and dining options are extremely limited.
