Colours Oasis Resort ADULT ONLY

There were holes in our towels. Stains on the sheets. Broken soap dispenser in shower (missing buttons). TV locked when got in room. Bed not comfortable. Hot water ran out. Neighboring rooms playing music all night.

I booked one night here based on the hotels TripAdvisor ranking. This hotel should not be ranked as it is on TripAdvisor. If I had read the most recent reviews I would have stayed any other hotel. This "hotel" is basically a bar with a very unusual building attached to it they call a "resort". I was first given a room on the ground floor right beside the lobby. It was dark, smelled bad and the noise from the bar and lobby was unbearable. The very kind staff moved me to another room further away from the bar. While quieter, this room was dark, dingy and also had an unpleasant smell. Avoid this "hotel". It should not be ranked #9 based on Traveller Rankings on TripAdvisor.

Pros: It's the most gay play you can stay in San Jose. However, there are a lot of straight women that hang out with gay friends at the small bar especially in the evening on weekends. Breakfast is served each morning (order off menu) Cons: If pool was heated, it was kept at a low temperature. Property is very much outdated and not well maintained (lights not working and outlets broken). Many rooms do not have any windows to allow for natural light. You will need to taxi or uber to go to restaurants. It's about 20 min ride to downtown. If I were staying in San Jose again in advance of side trips to other parts of Costa Rica, I'd likely stay closer to town in a better maintained establishment even if that meant staying in a traditional hotel.

I had a great time at Colours Oasis Resort. The staff where extremely friendly and helpful and the facilities were great.

It wasn’t what I expected. I thought it was inclusive (all). However, I get the meaning of how they use that word. The room was average…Nothing special at all. Certain things in room were broken. The area wasn’t great. The food was good until the last night. I have diarrhea since I ate that food Tuesday night. I believe the fries may have been undercooked. I didn’t have this problem until I ate that meal. The plane ride and airport was a horrible experience due to stomach cramps and diarrhea. The property is fairly old. The staff was pleasant but other than that…It wasn't the best experience.

There are rooms at the front left of the entrance..avoid these if you go to bed before 3am! The staff is friendly and always available to assist. Overall the age of the facility shows in the funishings, floors and electrical infrastructure. The plumbing at the sink had no hot water. I think the target market is a very young audience focused on pool parties and drag shows and low prices.

The resort employees were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were aged and in need of lots of repairs. The tv was missing from our room. The towels were old and ragged and part of the ceiling was missing and open to the roof above. The sofas were hard as rocks and the property was very distressed. The linens were worn thread bare. I was surprised that several guests there commented on how nice the place was as I found it to be very rundown. The setting was welcoming and the people were lovely.
