Colours Oasis Resort ADULT ONLY

Pros The staff was great. They were very helpful when showing up with luggage. The receptionist was very helpful with information and helping to print Covid forms. The cleaning staff produced a bottle of shampoo when I pointed out that there was no shampoo or shower gel in the room. Cons The property advertised a continental breakfast, but what was made available was pretty shabby, especially when compared to complimentary breakfasts at all of the other properties we stayed at on our trip. It was generally served an hour after the advertised 7 am time. You could order and pay for a decent breakfast. The toilet stopper in our room leaked, so the tank filled every few minutes throughout the day and night. Three separate roof leaks in our room, thankfully none over the bed. Sheets, towels, bedding, and bed well past their prime. Two towels and one wash cloth — no other towels provided. No wi-fi in room. Lukewarm water 2 out of 4 times using the shower. A single hand-drying washcloth in lobby bathroom that was not changed all day. No paper towels or hand dryer anywhere in common restrooms or rooms. Kitchenette in room with no plates, glasses, spoons, or anything really useful. Lots of attention to bar area. Very little attention to quality of rooms. Bed felt broken in the middle - creaked a lot when sitting down. Room safe too small to be practical and not big enough for computer or camera. Can only fit papers, jewelry, and passport in safe. Summary: Paid more for less.

The resort was fun and pretty. However slightly unprofessional at times. Lots of cigarette smoke coming into the rooms and loud at night with partying of the owners / workers, and seemed more like a party for them not a space for guests.

No AC and lukewarm showers but service and food were excellent.

No AC, No Ventilation, comforter on the bed had stains, pillow was black with whirlpool pillow case, bathroom very small, no bathroom door, this room fix only one bed nothing else. Thank god I been out of there

As a solo traveler I was welcomed to this resort by all staff. They made me feel comfortable and catered to! The food was amazing and I will definitely be back!

Boutique style hotel. Very accommodating. Everyone on staff appeared to just love their jobs there. Pia and Elise at guest services, with Angel and Jeffery bartenders made our stay very memorable and so enjoyable. Anything we needed was tended to by the hotel staff - dining recommendations, shopping suggestions, then finally transfers to and from the airport - mucho gusto Omar ! The hotel even arranged scheduling our required COVID testing and transportation to and from the testing center (Omar again !) before we could fly out. Strongly recommend Colours Oasis Resort for any LGBT traveler visiting San Jose CR ! We will be back !

This American owned property is top notch! The staff are incredible, the food is fantastic and very inexpensive.

The rooms are a bit dated. Housekeeping of room was poor. Staff were excellent

Very disappointing. The hotel had no parking, had to park on the street. The “receptionist” wasn’t wearing a mask, took him forever to find the reservation (ended being from Expedia.. not sure why). He didn’t know what kind of room was reserved, so he guessed it. He led us to a small room right behind the bar (very noisy), it was very small with no windows, nor ventilation, bathroom and restroom on opposite sides of the room, the sink was right next to the bed. Bed was not comfortable, bed sheets and pillows were bad quality though clean. Certainly not coming back!

I was referred to this hotel via a social media connection as I was going to Air BNB but I love to stay at and support gay establishments. I did some research and decided I had to stay here. I had contact with Liz and she was very helpful with my questions and getting all the health protocols in order as well as securing my transportation upon my arrival. The first person I met upon arrival was the owner and that was just pretty cool, over the course of my stay I had the privilege of having many fruitful conversations with him and it was truly a pleasure. I stayed in room 23 on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountains from my window, we have none in FL so this was a treat. The staff was very accommodating and the FOOD was incredible, the presentation was always spot on and I tried many dishes while I was there. I had one objective this trip and that was to go to Irazu which I did thanks to one of the staff members setting it up. The rest of my time there was simply to relax and indulge in the music and drink at the bar which did not disappoint. I met travelers from all over the world, which is always a plus and the pool was very nice although I did not go swimming it was utilized by other vacationers and locals. The warmth of the staff was truly a nice touch and I will definitely return as there are so many other things I want to see in Costa Rica but if you are looking for a friendly resort with great food, music and drinks, I highly recommend.
