The Shakespeare Inn is a great choice for a short stay in Telford or the Ironbridge area. Excellent value for money, great choice of food and drinks. We’ve stayed twice and will stay again

Lovely location and setting. Well looked after with very good room amenities. Plenty of towels, TV, mini fridge, good quality tea & coffee. Comfy beds and everything was super clean. Only minor snag for us was lack of wifi password in the room. The whole valley is not a good location for phone reception ! (This was only a snag as we were there the evening the restaurant is closed, otherwise it would have been easier to obtain a password) Over all we would recommend as a place to stay in the Ironbridge Gorge, minutes by car away from all the museums and of course the Iron Bridge, also restaurants, pubs and shops. We would stay here again without hesitation, it's one to remember. A proper find ! Thank you to Brett who was helpful with pre stay info by phone & email and of course the wifi password 😊

Excellent! My husband and I are elderly so arriving on a Wednesday (no staff) to stairs was challenging however for the able bodied it was great. Can recommend the continental breakfast.

Enjoyable stay; good staff; good food; chef tried hard to compensate for lack of conventional breakfast service mid-week. Closure of kitchen for two days per week a problem. Lack of staff for two days per week also a problem. Fire precautions need reviewing - directed to non-existent public phone box and no signal for mobiles.

I'd booked the room for a one night stay via Hotels.com, for a business trip. After I'd booked, and paid, a couple of days later I received an email saying the place was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - I was arriving on Wednesday. When I arrived, I had to call the hotel to find out how to access my room, which turned out to be at the back up, some very steep steps - tricky with 2 heavy bags. I was told I should have recieved an email with details on how to access the room - I didn't get this. The room was lovely, very comfortable and had all I needed. On reading the room information, it said food available everyday and breakfast served daily. I called the hotel again to check if this was right and was told no, there'd be no food served on days when closed, including breakfast on the Thursday morning. I was there for business and had I known there was no food, breakfast especially, I wouldnt have booked it. There was an empty fridge in the room and I can't help but feel a continental breakfast could have been provided in the room. This is so easy to sort and would have made a huge difference to me. Check out was easy - just leave the keys in the key box.

Charming, clean, great value breakfast

The Shakespeare Inn is a lovely building with a busy bar/ restaurant with a good atmosphere. The room was huge, well appointed with added extras like a fridge. I enjoyed my stay and would visit again- thank you
