Hedley House Hotel Wellness and Spa

We stayed in a family suite with two rooms and were really pleased with the space - a great size, with very comfortable beds and plenty of furniture to put everything away. It made an excellent base for exploring York. The hotel is also close to the train station, which we really appreciated with luggage in tow. We made good use of the exercise room, which was very convenient to have on-site. Breakfast was great and the service throughout our stay was excellent.

The only thing we missed was air conditioning. Coming from the US during an unusually hot spell in UK, the rooms got quite warm, and some cooling would have made the stay more comfortable.

It was in walking distance of the city centre. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The room was nicely decorated.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

This is an excellent non-chain hotel. Great location - nice walk into York. Room clean and comfortable. Shower hreat. Breakfast nice. All in all very pleased with my stay. And parking included!

Great hotel with lovely staff. Good location and great breakfast! Could hear the minster bells and the birds tweeting as I had a little nap before I got out of bed! Bliss!

It might be a bit hot in the top rooms on a hot day! Car park a bit tight but the staff did it all so was ok!

We stayed at Hedley House Hotel Wellness and Spa and had a mixed overall experience. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and it made a great base for exploring York.

There were a few drawbacks. The water pressure in the apartment was poor throughout our stay, and although we reported it, it wasn’t resolved, which was disappointing. The spa facilities also felt like a missed opportunity. We likely would have spent more time at the hotel and made more use of them, but the additional charges put us off, especially as other central York hotels often include similar amenities. Because of that, the overall value for money felt weaker than expected. Overall, it’s a nice property with a great apartment, but the unresolved maintenance issue and extra spa charges affected the experience.
