Melissa Apartments, Studios & Suites

What can I say? Fabulous family holiday!! Wonderful family run apartments. We stayed in the old block close to the pool and bar and our 2 apartments were spacious and with everything we needed. They were clean and we had a problem with the plumbing in our boys apartment which was sorted out immediately. The family couldn’t have been more welcoming whilst not intruding. They were always there to chat and gave useful information about the island. In short, I cannot recommend Melissa Apartments highly enough

The service in this hotel is shocking, on the first night we were unable to have aircon due to the manager explained the next morning he couldn’t be bothered to wait up because we had been delayed 20 minutes. We had also noticed our room being infested with ants and when we voiced our concern we was shocked at bug spray being left outside of our door waiting for us to do it ourselves before we go to sleep, despite the manager explaining the cleaners will do it when we are out during the day as the chemicals are toxic. As well as the bug spray being left outside our door, a dust pan and brush was also left outside our door, as if expecting us to clean our room. Not only this our bed sheets and towels were only changed once since being here and the room it’s self such as the floor were never cleaned or hoovered . On the day we was leaving we was told less than a half an hour that we need to check out at 12 and was refused a meter checkout even when offering to pay. We was advised to leave our cases in the reception that has no one around as the pool bar is where the staff dealt with everything, which left us concerned for the safety of our suitcases and our belongings, this also had a shower room which we thought was useful until we was rudely refused towels and arrogantly told we would have to pay to use fresh towels even though we had been told to leave the room at 12pm and this was at 5pm so we never thought to take the towels out of the room before we checked out, bearing in mind the towels in our hotel room were dirty due to not being changed. overall, the hotel establishment looked nice to the eye and the pool and bar establishment was decent, it’s just a shame that the service made our experience a hassle and less enjoyable than we thought and payed for.

Vieillot et ac pas très performant

Just got back from a week at Melissa apartments and have to admit when we arrived we did feel old as were at least 3 times older than most of the other guests but it didn’t matter. The hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the old town where there are plenty of tavernas with a great choice of fantastic food and also a few minutes walk to the ‘strip’ which explains all the younger guests. The family that own/ run the hotel live in the premises and do an amazing job catering for all the different guests. Our room was large with a lovely modern bathroom and a balcony big enough for a table, chairs and a drying rack. The kitchen was small had everything we needed for our self catering week although we ate most meals out. We did choose to pay for the air con (€7) per day which was essential due to the heat and it worked very well. The pool area was kept spotless (as was the rooms) and there was never a problem getting sun beds or a race to put towels out. There is an outdoor bar offering hot food, coffee and alcohol and all reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again, location is great, very clean and lovely family running it.

Am Pool wurde getrunken und gegessen. Hotelgäste hatten fremde Gäste mitgebracht, obwohl das nicht gestattet ist. Man konnte einige Leute mit fremdem " All inklusive Bändchen" erkennen. Das sollte besser kontrolliert werden. Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich.
