Eltham Gateway Hotel

Disappointed , Booked online , Photos where out of date , Place was tired and in need of updating , mattress was severely stained , Still had stuff from previous guests on the night stand. Adjoining apartments seemed to be a halfway shelter . and communed and drinking in the carpark

Clean and quiet, comfortable bed and amazing shower. Decor is a little dated. Disappointed the restaurant wasn’t/isn’t open. Would of been very convenient.

Served a purpose. Not the smoothest check in as 6.30pm seemed to be out of hours.

very hard when you stay at a place and there is no were to eat and drink. Bar and bistro were closed and had not been open for some time.

Property and room was clean but very outdated and the lighting in the room wasn’t the greatest and not enough power points.

This motel is rundown, dirty and appears to be used for low cost accomodation for long-stay tenants. The pictures are entirely misleading. Our two bedroom apartment was furnished with an odd selection of old beds & furniture. The curtains were filthy. The grounds are unkempt, with weeds and cobwebs everywhere. This is not a place to spend time with family. We received a refund with little protest. The nightly cost was akin to 5 star rates.

Very dated, did regret looking behind the bed for a PowerPoint. Dust, tissues from previous guests. Requested king bed& got 2 doubles. But for $115 a night you get what you pay for.

Nice place to stay

This is the second worst accommodation I have ever booked. We requested a refund and left straight away. I would not recommend it other than to say the staff member we dealt with was polite and understanding. Dreadful.

I arrived at 1pm to find reception locked. Called the number provided and a gentleman came to check me in. Said I was booked into a hillview spa suite but when I saw the amount of stairs that had to be climbed to reach it, asked if there was anything lower down. He didn’t offer any alternative but asked me if I was good with stairs. Now I will be 80 this year and reasonably fit but no way able to carry my suitcase up. However a staff member assisted by delivering my suitcase to the room. Was disappointed when I unlocked the door as the decor was, to say the least, very lack lustre. The red couch and armchair looked like they had been picked up on the side of the road. The chair’s lining underneath was hanging down. In the kitchen there was only one cup and one glass, a few plates and some cutlery but no plug for the sink and no tea towel. The bathroom was reasonable but only one cake of soap. The cupboards and the architraves are in bad need of repair. It takes several minutes for the hot water to come through.. The decking outside is in bad repair. I felt like I was going to fall through it in several places. The back garden is full of weeds. I stayed 3 nights and not once was my bed made. There was evidence that housekeeping has been there as the rubbish bin was emptied and the towels changed but no bath mat left on the first day and only once was milk and coffee topped up. On the day of my departure, there was no one about to help me with my case.
