"Dont stay here Saturday night - or any other night"

2.0

The hotel is situated in a rough part of Beziers, walking around makes one feel unsafe and I personally witnessed one bust up between locals. Really avoid this place if you have a family or are of a nervous disposition (see some of the French reviews of this place). The rooms have been refurbished but on the DIY basis - all very tired. The TV wont pick up the main French channels, the shower works really badly, the WiFi is intermittent and the worst of all the air conditioning does NOT WORK. I have to emphasise this last point because the staff refuse to believe it; the receptionist tried 3 times to make it function without success yet she continued to say it was working (it pushed warm air around the room for 3 minutes then it shuts down). After asking to be moved and being told there were no more rooms the result was that on a warm day (34 degC) my only choice was to open the window. Unfortunately this let the noise in from a group of youths on the street shouting loudly until 5 in the morning. The reception is unmanned after 9 in the evening so nothing to be done about the noise. Do not believe the staff, they are deluding themselves. I recommend that you ask to see the room before paying and check the air conditioning works (is it producing cold air, not just the fan pushing warm air around).

"Booked hotel where we where not "allowed" to stay."

6.0

We stayed in the Concorde Hotel rather than the Hotel France around the corner. We had to ring the hotel's tel no as there was no one in the reception of the hotel we booked originally. Someone collected us and said we had to stay in the other hotel. The room we were given was tired and drap, no window to the street but to a flat roof between buildings. The only positive was the offer of parking in the garage for an extra charge. If we had not rung we don't know how long we would have had to wait for checking in as no one was there in the hotel we booked. No notices to advise how to check in. We did not stay in the hotel we originally booked. No explanation given.

"Nice hotel in Bezier centre "

10.0

The manager was very helpful and assisted us on arrival. The room was clean and quiete, the breakfast was very nice and copious. As a two star hotel for short break it is just what it says on the box and I would return there if I needed to stay in Beziers again.

"Good budget hotel in the centre of Beziers."

8.0

Was looking for a hotel in the centre of Beziers for a couple of days. This is a good budget hotel. Bedroom was large by French standards. Couldn't manage to use the toilet with the door shut though, which was a weird design feature but as I was a single it didn't really matter. Shower in the bath didn't have a curtain and a round bottomed bath didn't add to the showering experience. A couple of friends had walk in showers so probably worth asking for one of those. A couple of late night bars in proximity but I didn't hear any noise. Partly because I was in one of them until 1am on the Saturday!! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Handy if you can speak a little bit of French for a couple of them. Breakfast is good.

"Safe but still sorry"

8.0

Hotel de France was closed so they moved us to their upgraded hotel. This hotel was around the corner from hotel de France. The neighborhood was old, but still safe. The Internet was sporadic. We paid extra for breakfast and it was good.

"Bit of a let down"

4.0

the staff are great and very helpful, especially when we found hairs in the bed, however the hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment from the outside to the inside rooms. If there was a fire I suspect there would be major problems. The local to Bezier is fine, but you can't hel feeling you're in the wrong side of town, noise was an issue and we were there in the early part of the week

"Don't stay here on a Saturday night!"

6.0

These are the good points; bang in the centre of Beziers - 2 minutes from the bus station and main shopping area, reasonably priced. I have stayed here 3 times for one night only, before continuing on to Pezenas the following day. It is a very basic hotel bordering on depressing, especially in the evening - there is no reception after 10pm and the area is not the best...... My last visit I stayed on a Saturday night, low thudding from a nearby club and shouting and noise on the street right through to 4am was not pleasant.

"friendly staff but noisy !"

6.0

we asked for a quiet room but as 'The Londoner' nightclub is only just around the corner and open at weekends from midnight to 5 a.m. there is considerable noise from there in the streets. Staff are great, also location (it faces the Galeries Lafayettes department store) but the rooms are tired, feel old and there was an odd smell from the air con system. (which we paid extra for, about 6 euros)
