Hyatt Regency Cape Town

I booked this because I have a generally good experience all over the world with Hyatt. We were at the end of a 30 day cruise from Singapore to Cape Town and wanted to rest up before flying home. We checked in on the 31st of May but I’d booked the 30th so we could get an early check in. I specifically booked 2 twins so we could have separate beds. We checked in , had to wait 45 min while they “refreshed “ the room. We get there, one queen bed. We then waited 2 hours for them to separate and remake the beds. When we get in finally, the toilet doesn’t flush. They send maintenance, they said fixed. Nope. Next thing we discover there’s no electrical socket in the bathroom for the hairdryer and no mirrors over the desk. What genus planed this? So we are paying for Regency Club access who’s at all the Hyatts I’ve stayed at is a room with snacks/wine and beverages. Not here. Plus the waiter informed me in the restaurant that this property only serves halal food, no bacon or pork products. No wine is offered in their cafe either. This should be addition their website. Today we left the room at 9:30 am returned at 2:45. Room is still not made up.

The room was great , spacious The staff were friendly, helpful - great customer service Special shout out to the Welcome Staff - Consierge and Tour Guide Ziaad

The sauna was really not clean , moldy and cold even though I advised the time of use Steam room was moldy an overall upgraded desperately needed

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2026. Pros: - I was allocated a room on the highest floor (8th floor) which provided a good view and the room size was spacious and had a sofa bed. - The bath room had a spacious bath tub and shower temperature was consistent. - Secured parking within the hotel basement is available for 160 rand a day. - There was a turn down service during one of the evening which was a nice touch. Cons: - Check in time was 3pm however our room was not ready when we arrived past 3pm and had to wait in the lobby for around 20 mins.

Good size modern rooms in a wonderful location. 20 minute walk to almost everything is n downtown Cape Town. Tons of great restaurants within walking distance, staff were outstanding and every request of the front desk was fulfilled within minutes. Extremely well run establishment and I would stay again b next time I’m in town.

Very comfortable bed. Lovely linen. Spacious room.

Fridge was noisy in the room. Curtains not total blockout.

The staff were beyond amazing
