Giovanni Rooms Manarola

No cleaning service was provided despite Giovanni statins there would be. No toilet paper or additional soap was available.

The property had basic amenities. Luckily it was for one night only! Compared to other apartments rented in the same period, we had coffee and sometimes water which is appreciated when you arrive in the evening. the access to the appartement was not easy and had to park the car far. the place had no shops around. If you want to stay in cinq terre, i would recommend another village.

This property is all about the location which is great! The view from the seaside room is outstanding! There is parking available outside of town which is close to the room and downhill from the parking lot but I would advice packing light and it is a trek carrying your luggage back up to the vehicle. If you come in by train, the trek up to the room with you luggage will be the hard part with the walk back down to the train much easier. Giovanni’s communication at check-in was great as he sent me a video illustrating how to walk to the room from the Bell Tower however I wasn’t able to get ahold of anyone at check-out and ended up just leaving the keys in the room which seemed to work fine. We would definitely stay here again.

The host Giovanni was very helpful during our stay and made good recommendations to help us enjoy our time in Manarola.

Far to overpriced... No service at all, the room can do with some paint work and new furniture. Charging more than €250 per night for a little room that hasn't been taken care of is completely unreasonable. I understand the mechanics of supply and demand but no circumstances would we return. The host also claimed that their card machine is "not working" and asked us pay him the full amount cash with the promise of a 10% discount. I leave it to you imagination of the reasons behind it...

The property has beautiful views from a small balcony. There are many stairs to the property. Overall, the room was unfortunately too hot to make for a good nights rest. The washer would not work. Not recommended for elderly. Fantastic town though

Location is great with view of sea. There are lots of steps, so please make sure you are able to carry your suitcase up 4 steep flights of stairs. Amenities said laundry but we found out we did not have access to washing machine. Check in was very easy and very nice service. The toilet lid kept falling off and would hit the drain pipe and disconnect the pipe allowing water to flood the bathroom until we reconnected it. Toilet was only a few inches from the shower, so could barely sit on toilet. Beds were not comfortable. Manarola is a wonderful town and the views were perfect from this place.

We booked on hotels.com. The room is very spacious, with a comfortable double bed. There is a sofa, fold away table, mini fridge, space for coats and bags, and a modern bathroom. The bathroom is big by European standards, you don’t feel cramped. It’s built into the rock which means there are some interesting and attractive chunks of rock above the toilet and in the shower, I found them very cool. The TV only has Italian channels but that was ok for us. Giovanni speaks excellent English and is reachable via WhatsApp. You should know that you need to park at the entrance of the village, then walk down the hill. Bring a roller case or a LIGHT bag. I regret packing so much, it was a struggle getting back up the hill.

Unbeatable views of a truly magical village. Close walking distance to everything, and if you're feeling adventurous you can get to the path towards the other villages without much trouble. Clean and beautiful room. Highly recommend!

Giovanni Rooms Manarola (GRM) are perfect for your stay in the little village of Manarola. We drove to Manarola (from direction Genoa) and chose GRM as it was close to the top of the village where there is parking as Manarola is pedestrian. Good communication from Giovanni – quick, accurate and helpful. As a general observation it is a good set-up (location/keys/access/handover etc.) We walked from the carpark to the bell-tower, which was >5 mins (downhill) – met Giovanni, were shown to our apartment which is down a little side street. Giovanni kindly helped with luggage as the stairs are fairly steep from the ground floor. We had booked a city view room but Giovanni offered an upgrade to sea view for a small fee, which we accepted – I was glad we did as the view is like a painting [pic 1]! The amenities are all that one requires (I did not see an iron but I guess that can be facilitated on request). Room was lovely and clean, nice linen and décor – the young lady servicing the rooms did a great job, towel decoration was a nice touch <3 [pic 2] Manarola is very small so everything is within a short distance. Yes you have to walk uphill from the sea back to the apartment but that is to be expected! Overall I would recommend and would rebook should I return :) Manarola itself is a great place for hiking, beautiful sea-views, swimming and eating. There are a nice array of little boutiques and gift shops.
