Very nice room for the money. The room is clean and the staff was very friendly.

If you are into classic neon, vintage motels, and a "Mom and Pop" feel to your stay, book this hotel. Easy access to downtown Asheville and many food choices nearby. Rooms were updated where needed--fridge, microwave, flatscreen tv, but they kept the great "harvest gold" shower and toilet. Had chairs outside your room so you could enjoy the cool mornings and evening breezes. Support this motel !!! I will never stay ANYWHERE ELSE in Asheville but here. I fell in love with this place!!! Not fancy but the vibe is so great.

The hotel has a fire pit and a nice sized clean outdoor pool. They had a pet area. The inside of the hotel was nice however the bathroom could have been cleaner and the beds were old and hard. I would say it was good for the price if you’re looking for some more outdoor time.

A most pleasant stay. Staff at reception the best with great recommendations. Nice pleasant rooms with chairs to sit on outside. Nicer than a normal motel, nice character to it.

The nostalgic Inn did not disappoint! Everything was great. I haven't located a small dark blue jewelry box, if that is found can someone contact me please? Contact information was room #114 night of 7/13. Thank you and we look forward to booking again!

We loved the room! It was very clean. The Inn is also in a very convenient location close to downtown Asheville for those wanting to explore the area!

I checked in on 7/2/23 and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was young with light brown hair, her name is Rachel. She had one of the worst attitudes of any customer service associate I have met. I asked for clarification about the $100 deposit, because I was unaware of it, and she responded with, “Like I JUST said…” and continued to be rude throughout the entire interaction. Other guests also complained about Rachel to the morning staff. The Mountaineer Inn website, that I booked through, said nothing about a $100 deposit. The confirmation email I received, after paying for the room, said nothing about a $100 deposit. $170 for this unclean hotel room and awful customer service is outrageous. When we went to our room, there was a cigarette burn in the comforter and even after trading it out, the second one also had a cigarette burn. There was pee all over the toilet, as well. $170 for this unclean hotel room and awful customer service is outrageous. I will definitely not be visiting again and would like to receive some kind of refund for the truly awful experience we had. I recommend booking anywhere but here!

I found it odd that they front desk wanted copies of everyone's IDs, not just mine since I booked it. They insisted on my wife's ID as well. Then all the parking was full. How do you have fewer parking spots than rooms? The next day there were bees everywhere. Bees were in both stairwells (no elevator) and you had to walk through them to get to out of the second floor.
