Hotel Sputnik

The hall is nice, while the rest of the hotel is somehow more modest. Rooms are decently clean and comfortable, although in general rather simple. It is not very expensive, and I'd say you have what you pay, i.e. enough, in particular if you are just traveling for business. Wifi is free and usually good. The housekeeping is not very accurate, actually, but I noticed it depends on the specific person.

I have stayed in sputnik for 3 weeks. No one speaks English, far from all social activities. There is no gym or business center. Tours comes all the time with laud tourists running in the corridors. Water line shared with neighboring room, so if they use the cold water, you may get boiling water in the middle of your shower. Rooms are very small, interesthingly enough the sheets on the bed is smaller than the bed, end up sleeping without a sheet most of the nights. The water fountains are in every floor but always empty. There is one ironning room in third floor, never available. Breakfast is not bad, but for me nothing I can eat (nothing kosher). Dinning room is not bad, we end up staying there until 11pm when it closes. Staff is friendly, I wish to be able to communicate with them.

This was a nice hotel to stay for a few days, especially the studio room for 2 people. It was perfectly clean, had a safe deposit box, toiletries, as well as cable TV. There were problems with the internet though, so out of the 5 nights we had internet connection only once for about an hour. But still there are more good points. Within a few minutes of walking, there is a wonderful huge park where I could jog in the morning, and the neighborhood is so green in general. There is a fridge in the room, so we could buy food for quite a long stay. There is a big grocery store "Pyaterochka" within 5 min distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also have a great restaurant, you do not need to go out for good food and the prices are reasonable. As for the location, it is about 15 min from the metro stop, as I love walking, it wasn't a problem for me, but otherwise, there is a bus stop right by the hotel, so it is only one stop.

Reasonable priced, has special offers, easy to book. Very good hotel for 3 stars. Trip from the airport is about 50 min. if there is no traffic jam and about 1,5 if there is one. Taxi costs about 1200 RUB (min.) to this place from Pulkovo2. About 15 min. walking to the subway, could take 20 if you walk slowly, better take any bus, the stop is right next to the hotel. There is small parking, usually there are several places, it's not free,but you can try and leave car nearby, isn't that safe though. Breakfast is so-so and there are not many restaurants in that area or museums or other places to visit. If you take a metro it will be other 30 min to the city centre (Nevsky Prospect).

Spend one night. Due to great road traffik the roads from the hotel to the airport took 2 hours. But anyway the place the hotel made is nice. Buy subway 10 minits to the centre.Room is nice. Hotel 3 stars. Free wifi which is nessery for me. Also there is a bankmachine but it doesn`t work at the time I need the cash. Next time will live closer to the airport.
