Sutera Sanctuary Lodges At Kinabalu Park

1) View: Had a gorgeous view of Mt Kinabalu from the porch. It was raining quite heavily when we arrive, and the mountain was shrouded in clouds & mist, however, when the rain stopped, we had a lovely sight of rainbow over the mountain! 2) Staff: The staff are friendly and helpful, and our requests were met eventually.

1) Facilities: The kitchenette does not have any eating utensils (ie plates, bowls, forks and spoons). While we understand that there should be no cooking, but at least provide the minimum for eating prepared food, fruits, etc. 2) Missing furniture: On the website, the pictures showed table and chairs for dining in the kitchenette area, but there were none in both chalets. While the chalet accommodates 4 guests, there were seating for only 2 on the porch, the other 2 guests have to stand. 3) Living Room: The layout of the sofa is not condusive/friendly, with 1 set of sofa facing the fire place, and the other set facing the opposite wall. 4) Bedrooms: For a "luxury" hotel, the rooms are really bare - no dressing table nor mirror (have to go to the shared bathroom to use the mirror), no chair, no hooks, no hairdryer (was told the hairdryer is inside the bathroom when I queried the front desk). We expected better for the price (RM1,000+ per chalet per night!)!!

Location. The food was good and plentiful and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The filtered water dispenser was very useful. The bed was comfortable and I particularly liked having 2 pillows!

Although the room was clean, it was tired and a bit shabby with a cracked sink and slightly stained sink and shower surrounds.

Nice layout, nice clean room and location is good. The tv channel is good too, has variety of movies.

We had the fire place lit for us on the 2nd night, it was beautiful and all, until its about to end, we realised the smoke has nowhere to escape, hence it circulate in our room! I felt like dying inhaling all the smoke, we called the reception to inform and she said there is nothing they can do about it! Its is very sad, we could have died from inhaling all that smoke! We had to open up will doors n windows, all night and slept under the sheets trying to find ways to reduce the smoke smell. So please get ur smoke suction fixed or not, please dont allow to lit the fireplace.

We stayed at the Hill Lodges. Room was clean and comfortable. Our stay included breakfast at the restaurant on site. Food was good. Overall it was a nice location to stay in Kinabalu park.

Men was erg vriendelijk. Het lokale restaurant is zeker heel erg goed. Wie de berg wilt beklimmen of het park verkennen is hier aan het juiste adres.
