Hatchers Richmond Manor

We enjoyed our stay here, kids were feeding sheep, taken through a kitchen. Room was comfortable and clean, food in the restaurant was tasty. Their apricots and apricot jam sold next door to the entrance was delicious.

Staff very friendly, warm and welcoming for families. Great experiences for children to explore the spaces and feed animals. Loved the unique feel and look of the place.

Poorly maintained, toilet wouldn’t flush, TV did not have volume, very dusty and dirty. Linen threadbare, front door cracked, outdated and uncomfortable furniture. Window furnishing inadequate; front door cracked.

Richmond is a lovely little town, lots of attractions and amenities. Hatchers Manor is a nice farm. The beds were comfortable and the owners were friendly.

I payed for a room with a bathroom and air-conditioning. Upon arrival I was told of something leaking in the bathroom and that it had seeped into the carpet just outside the bathroom, but they were unsure of where the water had come from. I very quickly discovered that the leak came from the toilet. Also that the air-conditioner was broken. I told the staff at reception (I think they were the owners) and they addressed the matter by placing a bucket and towel at the back of the toilet, which was entirely ineffective. There was still water all over the floor. Apparently a call was made to an electrician to fix the air-conditioning but nothing was fixed during my stay. It was said twice that they would try to get us into a different room, but nothing further was said or done. There wasn't even an offer of a free meal to make up for the discomfort and anxiety of staying in that room. There were a few other instances of inefficiency and unprofessionalism. All in all, I was extremely disappointed and I would not recommend or return to Hatchers Manor.

Amazing property Friendly staff Clean Beautiful location

Such beautiful attention to detail in the way the room has been designed and styled to look like it’s from an older time but with modern amenities. The hosts were so friendly and caring. Lots of warm blankets for the beds and the room was serviced well. Room was spacious with a good bathroom with a spa bath. Excellent location in Richmond.

The heating in our room was inconsistent and the air-conditioning would periodically turn off or blow out cold air, which given it was May in Tassie meant it got quite cold. One of the electric blankets on the beds was missing a power outlet so couldn’t be used. The beds were not terribly comfortable. There are no room markings on the doors and we actually had another guest walk into our room one evening accidentally.

Very tired looking but it must cost a lot to maintain
