Hotel Aloe Canteras

We loved this hotel with its unique bathroom/shower looking to the room. Breakfast was quite varied and tasty. Hotel really close to the beach and several restaurants. Good choice for those who like plenty to do.

Great refurbished rooms. Spacious, airy and shanky!

Hotel is in a good location with beautiful sea views from the balcony. It's also got a perfect little terrace area where you can enjoy the sunshine if you don't fancy venturing to the busy beach. We arrived at the hotel quite late and we're given our room keys. When we walked into the room we found someone else's flip flops and bag on the floor! We went back to reception and the man said he'd look into it - I think he thought one of his colleagues gave the wrong room keys out. We went out for some dinner as we were starving and a little fed up of waiting for some new room keys - the hotel appeared to be fully booked. When we returned we were then given keys to a new room. The room was rather hot, there was an air con switch but it didn't work. There was a large glass window in the room looking directly into the shower, you can also see the toilet and sink through the window - complete lack of privacy and a little inappropriate! There was also a letter on the bed welcoming another guest to the room, a little confusing. We went down to reception with the letter, the receptionist took it off us and pretended to eat it! He said it didn't matter. We queried the air con but was told that it's currently being installed and to open the door onto the balcony. The hotel itself is nice and very reasonably priced. It was clean and tidy, I think we were perhaps just a little unlucky with our experience. I would go back again - if I could have a room with a more private bathroom!

We had a double interior room for 3 days. The hotel and the rooms look newly refurbished. The beds were comfy, we had a big TV and it was very quiet at night. The bathroom was clean and also newly refurbished although we have to deduct some points for the ceiling not being finished (not painted), a weird window between the room and the bathroom and that the bathroom door was designed not to close completely. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they also spoke English. Only point of critique is that there was some early door banging in the mornings around 8am from the office next to our room. We did not try their breakfast but instead went to a cafe on the beach which was cheaper.

Staff welcoming and most helpful.. Hotel close to beach and plenty of good restaurants. My room was clean, bright and light and very comfortable. Will definitely stay there again.

Hotel is situated just right off the mai beach promenade and thus close to the bars, restaurant and shops. We were checked in earlier thanks to helpful receptionist , who went out of his way to find available room as ours wasnt ready then yet (tall gentleman). All staff very polite and courtous, we asked another lady at the reception the about HORCHATA and she immedieately googled place where we could order it. Hotel has been recently refurbished to a modern standard , inspired and themed by Aloe plant. Room is spacious with very comfy bed, nice bathroom with quirky window into the bedroom - a simple (aloe colored) curtain would improve some privacy :) Beside that tiny detail, all was great, weather food, Las Palmas is fantastic escape from winter in UK!

The location of the hotel is very good at the beach of canteras just a few meters away, and with lots of rooms with a side-view to the sea and the beach promenade. Also I heard about that there are rooms to the patio, which aren't great. We really enjoyed the view from our room (307) and the sunny balcony. The hotel has been recently renovated, and normally we wouldn't have thought about to stay here, because of the previous rather poor feedback's. But we booked last minute and gave it a shot. And to our surprise: They did a very good job and we had a great time, with amazing friendly staff and a fresh contemporary designed hotel room for a reasonable price in a prime location. A small disappointment was so, that the roof terrace and the restaurant still where closed for renovation, and that the AC didn't worked yet. Which made the nights very warm, also we got a fan. There are plenty of restaurants and two supermarkets very close available, which is very nice. I would recommend a room a bit higher up, as it can be quite noisy from the road, which is a pedestrian area, but with restaurants, and delivery traffic, plus very noisy street cleanup cars. Unfortunately it can be also quite noisy from your neighbour above, as the sonic travels vey well, when they move a chair or the single beds, which are normally together, but unfortunately move to easy. The hotel has recently been refurbished so the rooms are in great condition but unfortunately the cleaning staff do a half-hearted job of cleaning the rooms during your stay. The hotel also doesn't allow you to have visitors (which isn't advertised anywhere on their site) and I found this rather bizarre considering I was paying for a double room.
