"Iconic Tahoe but food and common areas and menu need attention"

The lake views are a classic. Sunset cocktails sublime. Iconic Tahoe. Beds, linens, bathroom all top notch. Enjoyed our stay in the lodge and the staff was stellar!! Felt warmly welcomed.

Really awful food at the restaurant for dinner. We have been coming to Sunnyside for decades. We LOVE dining on the deck. The food has always been wonderful in the past. This time the food was underwhelming and almost inedible. Caesar salad was an abomination. Tiny limp and sad. The fish and chips awful. May never have dinner again on that deck. Seriously a big turnoff for what was supposed to be a special nostalgic occasion. The carpet in the common areas - lobby/bar- is filthy. Needs TLC or replacement.

Traffic noise, roadwork at 1:30 AM, older carpets torn and stained. A bit dingy.

"Kimos pie yes but This is not Huli Huli"

We enjoyed a Kimo pie remembering days in Maui ..before kicks burned..views and the burgers and tacos..great… ahem… but taco Tuesday should be ALL day. Starts at 4 so please pay double for your marg at 2pm! Hmm. Not a fan..and we had a Huli Huli ordered at our table. It was want back in favor of a burger as it was chopped chicken w bad rice and teriyaki sauce..it did look like a nursing home or hospital meal. The check came and the waitress did not take the meal Off? Hmm I guess message is go after 4 for better pricing.. and stick w basic bar food to be safe. Views unbeatable ..watching the boats getting dropped by lift Into the lake is great.. skilled people. Overall needed more staff to max selling drinks, clearing plates ..the t shirt booth was doing a brisk summer business impressive.

Sunnyside is a gorgeous older property right on the lake. The room was comfortable, the shower fantastic (awesome water pressure), and the views spectacular.
